The JW experience, God and Mental Issues
by mankkeli incontinous thought about the existense of god, the creator deity and the source of the supernatural can be very confusing, and if not properly checked and put under control, it can lead to mental issues.
coming along with this experience is also the jw sophistications.. from all dimensions, the jw experience has been proven to be a terrible one, the more i think of it, the more horrible it feels inward, some may wish to reverse time and live differently without the jw acquiantance while others may feel the experience had its own benefit despite enormous odds, it might have given them the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective while for some it was a complete waste of time.. those who finally discovered the deceits of the organisation and its destructive machinations but still remained in like myself are finding everyday life difficult, the thought of being abandoned and shunned by 9 family members is terrifying.
attending all the meetings and not finding joy in them anymore is not just a waste of time but an abuse of the human mind.

I never had any family in the organization but it was very difficult for me to leave. I tried forcing myself to believe what I no longer could because I had nothing else to believe in and was terrified of suddenly not believing I and my family would live forever, I would have to live completely in the world without belief in a God. I did try to continue to believe in Jehovah for a while but it didn't work. There are times I am deeply depressed over it all. I come here and can express myself where I cannot anywhere else. It helps.

The obsession of being a JW, and the obsession of an EX-JW is just as strong
by sinis inafter being on this forum for a long time, i am starting to realize that the obsession devoted to and surrounding leaving the organization is just as strong, if not stronger, than the obsession for the wts as a current jw.
its like a tiny bug eating and crunching away at the inner ear.
is this healthy?

Guest,
You made some very good points. Excellent observation and one of the best I've heard describing as to how we as JW's and JW's connect

Here in Baltimore, Maryland it was felt. I was in my bedroom when my german shepherd came in my room with an inquiring look on her face as she walked the perimeter of the bedroom with her head down near the floor and ears straight up. Couldn't figure out what she was doing. Then the whole house started shaking. I was sitting on my bed holding on as it shook and the walls rumbled and sounded like they were cracking. It was a mystifying as well as frightening experience. I hope it doesn't happen again. Next time my dog displays unusual behavior (like she's looking for something that's not there I will take action and get out of the house). I have heard that animals hear and sense disasters before they happen or at least before humans are aware of any danger. There was some minor structural damage around the city but no one was hurt which was fortunate. I don't know how Californians can live there knowing it's a high risk section for earthquakes. I guess they get used to it. Not me.

Note: Re pyridium & generic Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride...
Didn't realize we're geographically many miles apart. I'm in Baltimore, Maryland and I had gotten those Uricalm pills at my local Rite Aid drugstore last year. I hadn't had a UTI for many years until last year. Almost went nuts because I had to wait so long for the urine specimen to clear-that is why I bought the Uricalm. Then when the test came back I found out the infection was resistant to most antibiotics: cipro, tetracycline, amoxacylin and others I had never heard of nor had I ever taken them. What a mess. I try to drink lots of water since then but it can be a problem at work having to run to the bathroom all the time. As far as the pharmacist telling you that people having UTI's can have mild discomfort....yes, he definitely never had one! I think only one male has posted on this subject which tells us that this is a female problem which most men don't understand or empathize with. I don't know of any man who has ever had a UTI.

That poor girl! How horrible. I have had UTI's most of my life and I do remember when they gave out Pyridium. I thought it was a miracle. They still do make it but I only know of getting it in a drugstore in a very low dose. 95 mg under the generic name of Pheyazopyridine Hydrocholoride. I had a UTI last year and my doctor would not geve me any antibiotics until he received a urine test back (about 4 day). In the meantime I took these generic. They do help. There are a couple of different brands on the market but I can't remember any except Uricalm. Uh oh. Big storm here. Got to get offline. See ya later.

Do most JW's belive their own private version of the religon?
by highdose intrying to work with jw's and their cd i notice that the harder i push their beliefs the more likely they are to hit back with some werid version of jw belives that exsists only in their own head.. its almost like they listen to the bs from the platform, run it through their head and then process it through their own filter and end up with a bastardised version of "the truth" that they feel comfortable with.. .
anyone else encountered this?
and whats your theory about it?.

I do agree with all comments made. When I was in I encountered the same thing. Everyone had a different opinion of what something meant. It was very confusing to me because whoever I asked what something from the bible meant - it was a different answer. It never occurred to me there was fault in their reasoning or that they didn't know...it had to be my fault in understanding the answer. You can recognize the cultish self-punishment there.
