  for me it's "the doors of the ark are closing.

  i can never forget as a child, being forced to see the graphic images in the publications showing families, mothers with little babies clinging to a rock and others drowning as the ark floats away.

  fathers shaking their fists at god for destroying their families... it's like some of the little mind control still functioning in there somewhere causing a kneejerk reaction of uneasiness.... are there any others that bug you?.

  The terms "brother or sister" did it for me. I realize it was meant spiritually, but I could never bring myself to use either term. When you are married to a Witness, be it a brother or sister the idea of incest lurked in my mind . Plus, none of the Witnesses were my family members. Always managed to wriggle out of it somehow. I would say Mr. ___ or Mrs. _____ if it necessitated. Otherwise, I would just not respond. Another one was "how will you digest the meat when you are only drinking milk?"

  The org is going down----I can feel it!

  my brother called me today.he is 20 ,3 years younger than me,and out of the religion.he still has fear though that it could be true,but thats another story.. he told me he heard my mother and father talking upstairs.my mother said about the org "ive put 26 years into it,i think i'm done with it,i might just go sunday from now on".this is huge ,because she was a devoted nutjob witness.she made my life horrible for the 1st 17 years of my life.i had been trying to suddly tell her the truth about the troof,but i didn't expect this.i'm happy and yet i want to know where she stands with the borganization.. this along with what seems to be an outpouring of similar stories,i have a gut feeling the jehovahs witness mind control cult is on the brink of implosion.everyone is so burdened by it.the jig is up,gb,good riddance when you fold.the rank and file have had enough.my 2 younger sisters are on the edge of mental freedom.i hope they can fully get free of it.. this is a milestone in my families long and strange trip in mental enslavement!!!!!!!!!!!!

  You are right on target with your comments. That is what sold me. Paradise earth here and now for me and my children. I was 17 years old with two children. That was in the '50's. For many years I watched the news for any indication of Armageddon, hoping and dreading simultaneously, trying to figure out when it might be based on the "75 years being a generation, living with conflicting emotions that were driving me crazy. Of course, I had to be careful not to "run ahead of Jehovah's organization." My conflicts landed me in a psychiatrist's office. Finally, eight months ago, after viewing this site, and realizing the truth of what I viewed, I ran way ahead of the organization and made made the transition overnight. I wish it were a paradise to look forward to, but I know it's not and I have made peace with myself and the world around me. And I have all of you here to thank. It has been an enlightening experience here. The facts that are posted and the humor. I laugh as I never have before at the posts. I think many of you missed your calling as comedians/comedienes. It is refreshing!

  i know a little about it, including the basic theory on how it works.

  but i'm interested in reading more.

  i figured some of the sciencephiles on the board would have some good resources on the topic..... this is pertinent because the recent thread on noah's flood has prompted discussions on whether alleged global events could have changed the rate of radioactive decay, a suggestion fundamentalist groups like the witnesses like to make.

  congregation, we believe and teach jehovah's witnesses are god's name people, established as such in 1931, when they took the divine name upon themselves, thus starting what historians and theologians say was the beginning of the "divine name movement" of our time.

  and as such, they have become modern day "israel" of bible prophecy.

  or is it just personal preference, because i have one, and i am not sure.

  I am new here too. I last attended a book study about 8 months ago. I think the earrings are good-looking, but I can assure you from what I've heard at the book studies earrings would be a matter of some reproof from a "mature one" in the truth. By the way, I am no longer a Witness. Are you? I no longer attend any meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses.
