And you will certainly become pregnant and give birth to a son. 4 And now watch yourself, please, and do not drink wine or intoxicating liquor, and do not eat anything unclean. 5 For, look! you will be pregnant, and you will certainly give birth to a son, and no razor should come upon his head, because a Naz'i•rite of God is what the child will become on leaving the belly; and he it is who will take the lead in saving Israel out of the hand of the Phi•lis'tines.”

  God seems to love this “barren woman” trick since he pulled it so often according to the Bible. In this incidence the writer didn’t even take the trouble of telling us the name of this remarkable woman. Anyway .she got the son and for some inexplicable reason he was of course different from all other babies because he was “getting bigger” and Jehovah continued to “bless him”. Then God’s “spirit” apparently started to work on Samson:

  You say that for some reason Samson was inexplicably different.If you allow the bible to do the interpreting for you, you will see that, Yes Samson was different, why? It is right in the verses.look at verse 5 "He will take the lead in SAVING Isreal." Wow! What a loving thing for Jehovah to do. Raise up a Judge and Savior for his people who were being repressed and bullied by the Philistines.

  Do you think that maybe you havent gave the Bible a FAIR chance? For someone to explain to you the real meaning behind some of the senseless violence you have read about? I would be happy to talk to you about some and maybe we BOTH can learn something in the process.

  That was the worst explaination of that account I ever heard. You assert all negative and bad things concerning samson. You have taken Jesus spot and Judged Samsons motives. You are way off on your interpretation of that account. Though you are entitled to your own opinion, which I do not agree with.

  I agree with you also. I dont mind a different opionion. Look at judas iscariot. He was chosen by Jesus to be a disciple. One of the 12 disciples. Yet he betray our lord and Savior. He put on a pretence of Godly obedience. Now just because he did such a terrible thing could we conclude that the group he was in ws not right? Kinda like lumping EVERYONE in the same mold.

  Just look at the history of Gods people. For the most part they were stiff necked, immoral, idolatrous hypocrites. That didnt change the fact that they were Gods chosen people or his channel of true worship did it? No it did not.Even when Jesus appeared on the scence and changed everything. Christian Cong were formed and the problems didnt go away. In the book of Revelations Jesus is talking to the seven Cong. the ones he held in his hand. ALL but one had some people problems. That didnt change the fact that they were still his Congregations did it? No, he basiclly said if they dont straighten up, They will pay the price. We for our part we need to be firmly resolved not to be like others. The Apostle Paul even stated to look at the FAITHFUL ones and imitate there course. As for the one doing bad, stay away from them.Thats what i am doing within my Congregation.

  Blondie you couldnt be more correct. I have experienced the samething in the Congregation I attend. I had a freind of 7 yrs and just recently found out he has been talking about me and gossiping behind my back for yrs. I found out something about him that i never knew. It made me mad. I confronted him about it. I basiclly told him he was wrong and that i will not have freinds who are like that. I still go to the meetings. I stay away from the bad ones. The bible did say that there would be bad ones within, did it not?

  look at that text again maybe starting with the 1st verse. That text tells us a wonderful thing about God.
