as a daily visitor of this site i am shocked by how judgemental i am.. .
if someone makes a valid point but does not spell well it colours my judgement.. .
if someone who is a clown has excellent grammar i give them leeway.. as an aside i am a gramaphobe.. .

1) i thought jehovahs witnesses are very good people.
2) are they good people?.
Most people are good people, therefore most JWs are good people.
The problems begin when you overlay the cult personality.
Then good people can start doing bad things, and nasty people can become evil.
it seems like lots of people have big dreams of 'destroying the watchtower'.
it's usually linked to a story of how they were wronged and want some revenge.
do these 'in your face' attempts to convince people that the truth isn't the truth really have an effect?.
I left because I didn't enjoy being a JW and was tipped into action by not wanting my kids to have the same crappy paradigm.
The action I took was:
finding problems with JW doctrine - http://www.jwfacts.com/
finding problems with the biblical inerrancy - http://corior.blogspot.com/
finding people like me - http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/
Nothing I read was rant-led if that makes sense? Although horses for courses...
i've been working on this one for a few weeks and it is finally done.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inmzhysxa-o.
here's the description from the youtube video:.
baptism is a risk!
BTW - I don;t think the recent emphasis on jw.org means the demise of any of the corporate entity name Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society, the publication Watchtower or the religious denomination Jehovah's Witnesses
using these terms interchangeably is confusing to me - a website, a religion, a corporate entity and a magazine are all different things

Ray - if you feel that the Watchtower quote
"Some parents consider their children’s baptism as a beneficial step that involves risk—much like getting a driver’s license."
can be paraphrased to
"Baptism is a risk says JW.org"
then you should brush up on your critical reading skills - I think the paraphrase is inaccurate and incorrectly attributed to the wrong entity.
just my 0.02 - I don;t want you to lose credibility with your audience, or worse - end up with the wrong audience - see Rick Fearon for details of train crash activism where nobody with 2 brain cells believes anything he says.

i hope this link works but there has been virtually no sunspot activity since the beginning of this year and the suns magnetic field is down 60%.. if this link does not work, you might like to try googling: sunspot activity 2008 iceage.. the last time this happened we moved into a little ice age which lasted from 1100 to 1800.. global warming lies may well have met their match with reality.. so how will they tax us for the 'ice age?
do we get our tax back that we paid because of 'global warming'.. is this why they have made fuel so expensive....because they know what is coming and they want to make a killing?.
its interesting when you look back and see that they have been pushing this denier meme consistently each and every year for some time now...
even if the UK was entering a mini Ice-Age it wouldn;t change the facts around global warming or climate change - neither of those bodies of knowledge suggest that everyone globally will get to wear shorts and t-shirt all year.

meantime, back in the real world....
if you want to post a link to a specific post its quite easy (thanks jeffro for making this obvious for me).
every thread has a general url which will take you to the top of page 1 for that thread eg.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/266550/1/atheists-what-is-the-best-argument-for-god#.uos8aupdu4q.

Every thread has a general URL which will take you to the top of Page 1 for that thread eg
The key to linking to a specific post is to identify that post number and replace it over the top of the last bit of the thread URL after the #
Note that you also have to change the page number to the page matching the post you are linking to.
Identifying the post number is easy - mouseover the 'edit post' icon and look for the post number at the bottom of your browser window - it will reveal the URL including the post number - naturally you wont be able to edit someone elses post so dont bother clicking it unless you like getting error messages.
Hope that helps!

ray if I could just suggest your title is inaccurate
jw.org does not say baptism is a risk - it says ' some parents think "baptism is a risk" '
jw.org does not say anything in fact - jw.org is a domain name, but that would be getting all tenth of a mint on you :-)
keep going with the videos though - it all helps!
