I am sad that religion and spirituality are so tritely interchangeable.
good luck for those 3 hours...
i've seen this weekend's uk branch visit mentioned a few times.
for those who are interested, here is the programme:-.
1:00 pm song 63 & prayer - p. gillies.
I am sad that religion and spirituality are so tritely interchangeable.
good luck for those 3 hours...
i booked a double appointment so that she wouldn't be rushed.
i explained that i'd been brought up in the jw's and woken up to what a load of shite it was.
i explained that they have changed the blood card and that the elders in the cong are being told to effectively force people into signing it.
I think I stopped signing them about 10 years before I left, which in itself is close to 10 years ago now.
I think you can reasonably stall by saying you aren't signing something you don't understand. Make a few appointments to have it explained to you, cancel them beforehand, re-book etc and eventually they will leave it. If push comes to shove delay further by saying you are going to discuss with your doctor, lawyer etc.
the april 4th issue contains a very well-written and insightful article about the jws: "god's work" by kevin canty.
it's fiction, but on the money as far as the experience of an adolescent reconciling the beliefs with his natural biological urges.
boy, could i relate!
hi all.. so i got a txt today from a very proud mum claiming that, the jw cart produced 300 book and magazine placements.
mostly from foreign speakers.. the shard is the tallest building in the uk.
this is where the cart was placed.. not a bad day they had really.
As a London commuter (go past the Shard twice a day as it happens) I really struggle with this 300 in 2 hours. Given that all our reports basically speak to the same thing - carts in busy areas but little to zero actual engagement - its improbable.
I also used to see the carts outside Charing Cross Station at peak times, but these have disappeared in the last few months. The JW's there were competing with the following:
City AM
Time Out
Gym Membership freebies
Free product trial offers - meal replacement bars etc
The homeless guy selling Big Issue
The homeless guy who has wet himself (again)
Actual real charities - Breast Cancer day etc...
I wouldn't be surprised if Westminster Council told the JW's to sling their hook as it was becoming a road traffic safety issue with thousands of commuters fighting their way through all the 'offers' to cross one of the busiest roads in central London.

shes asked me if i want to the the circuit overseer next week.. i have never met him and this is more my mum wanting me to get my problems i have with the organisation out.
but should i share everything i've learnt or what?.
tell your mum you can t be part of the organisation for conscience reasons. she has to do her own research of course, you cant tell her the reasons. but until there are major changes and apologies you won;t be going back.
