a new fox poll says biden is up by 12 percentage points.
of course, most other polls say trump will be trounced this time around.. do you think the polls might be right this time?

so a co just said in his talk yesterday that anyone that doesn't follow the branch's covid19 "suggestions" is disobedient and the type of person that won't survive armageddon.
didn't the letter say that each head of household would choose for himself how to apply the "suggestions"?.
the funny thing is there are other countries where none of these "suggestions" have been given..
HUXLEY1979:
Yeah, that’s my view of it..I’m also delighted that I was not contacted..even once during the last several months of this Covid crisis by any JWs. 👍🏻
I had read the Witnesses were trying to contact some ‘faders’ to reactivate them. I’m glad I wasn’t on anybody’s list. Nobody wasted a stamp. Well that’s good.
I guess these hypocritical Users know they weren’t going to get so much as the time of day from a retired person who was viewed so negatively back in the day. Maybe word got to them about my views about the religion!
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.
but very little news from a couple of people i know well there.
they can't leave the "compound" or much of anything else.
LV101:
Everything was criticized out East as well..The JW religion is filled with deluded hypocrites with double standards.
I’m glad I defied the criticism and followed my gut and held onto my job until retirement..Anybody who thought single women were there to do favors can ROT - and there were too many idiots there who thought this.
I’m glad I’m not in the religion anymore to deal with this...Imagine it now?? The attitudes in congregations are going to be positively cannibalistic towards other remaining people there - and God help if somebody looks affluent..
If more bethelites are sent packing and dumped in the congregations - people are going to regularly be hit up constantly to give money to every Tom, Dick and Harry.. If I were stupid enough to still be there, I would have to tell some S.O.B. who came up to me with an envelope to get the hell away from me! This is the ugly reality of what the Witness religion is now.
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.

SMIDDY3:
Thanks..What I experienced was simple resentfulness against independent women by sheltered morons who were hypocrites collecting pensions having been in the workforce themselves.
My first congregation was like a time warp from the 1950s with smiling women who never worked. I guess I appeared to be an anomaly. Too bad. I had to work. The second congregation was better somewhat but still the mentality that a single young woman was there to do favors and pursue poverty like some idiot.
I stayed on the fringes of the congregation until I ‘faded’ years later..I had a few friends here and there. Some of these were older people, single moms with a profession and a few ditsy single women waiting for Armageddon to solve their problems..The religion generated hateful attitudes towards people with careers (but mostly women!!!!! The hypocrites were more ‘accepting’ if it was a man with a career).
Fast forward to now: I am a twenty year ‘Fader’ and Happily Retired who does not want any of these desperado Witnesses to come anywhere near me.
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.

RUB A DUB:
The religion can’t? (As in prohibited from?)...Well, let’s hope for this couple’s sake the religion doesn’t... And if the religion DOES let them go, I hope they have some emergency phone numbers of their spiritual friends in the congregations!
RUB A DUB, I predicted years ago (before the bad economy, etc.) that the Witness religion’s idiot policies against higher education, careers and retirement plans was going to cause BIG problems in congregations with clueless people reaching retirement age with NO preparation!..And I did not want to be anywhere near these people when reality hit them.
The JW who did my taxes saw my IRA contribution and made a scornful remark that “I’d never see that money”. I was gossiped about and people said I was “not spiritual”. Why? Because I had a full time job and prepared for retirement!
Well, this person passed away years ago - and I am almost six years Retired!..Now the religion is downsizing and older bethelites are being sent packing into the cold night - with nothing!..Adding insult to the injury of OTHER JWs in congregations who are desperate. These local desperate JWs are usually people who had no business pioneering but should have been in the workforce!
I’ll say it again for the hundredth time: I am glad I am long Out of the religion and never listened to their nonsense.
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.

JWUNDUBBED:
I think the group of lifers he was referring to are the very very elderly. They have a secure place at bethel til the end. Not so much the younger bethelites since the religion could lay off more of them.
In general, I do not feel sorry for ANY bethelite because of ignorant and derogatory remarks (unspiritual, materialistic) they have made over the years about responsible working people in congregations!..Meanwhile, these bethelites were living off their contributions!! The JW religion made them feel smug and arrogant!
Maybe some people on this forum will make excuses or feel sorry, but I cannot. The best thing that can happen to a fired bethelite IMO is to enter the workforce, earn a living and see what the average person deals with in the REAL world! That’ll keep them from making callous and stupid remarks!

FEDUP JW:
Yes, I love their comparison to Noah’s Ark!
I cannot help but wonder if the religion wants this isolation to continue because Zoom is working out so well for them?
I suspect they want to sell off more kingdom halls.
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.

RUB A DUB:
Yes, I get your drift. These particular bethel ‘lifers’ sound very old..I presume that the JW religion would be decent enough to keep THEM til the very end.
But..any other bethelites there between the ages of 45 and death had better have some emergency phone numbers and a plan B - in the event they get a letter slipped under their door!.. I don’t think anybody can assume that nobody else would be let go!
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.

FINKELSTEIN:
Yes, I know there is no retirement fund for longtime bethel workers! When they got kicked out they had to depend on family, etc.
I imagine some of them are employed by now. Others opted to be sp. pioneers in the congregation getting a stipend and expecting handouts.. I’m glad I’m not in the JW religion anymore because they would get nothing from me!
When the first bunch got let go from bethel all those years ago, the thought that came to mind is that any OTHER bethelites still there had better make plans just in case...
If they didn’t..well good luck to them.
i guess it's the covid-19 thing.

RUB A DUB:
As for those bethel ‘lifers’ you know who have ‘no other options’:..what happens if the JW religion decides to let another group of bethelites go like they have done over the last decade or so??
What would these people do since there are halls being sold all over the place, fewer congregations to go TO and even fewer Witnesses to beg handouts from?
