It’s sad to read all the stories of born-in people who had normal childhoods robbed from them by a deceptive cult who had to keep people hanging on with their carrot dangling from a stick of the ‘paradise earth’ teaching..Meanwhile, whole lifetimes have passed by and people have lived and died!
Even though I was not born into the Jehovah’s Witness religion, they could have really ruined my life if I caved in to criticism over my job!..I would not be Retired today if I listened to the judgmental hypocrites!..I was a little older than you when I walked away from it ALL.

True. But it’s not that I want to come across as thinking that a person with no higher education cannot think. No, certainly not.
It is just that the Witness religion has literally demonized college education. They are anti-intellectual. They have ‘elevated’ people in congregations just because these people toe the party line and ‘pioneer’ - meanwhile these people are lucky they can string two sentences together!...Also, if they are on the podium and spout something - you are expected to accept it..because they said it.

ROAD TO NOWHERE:
Years ago, back when I was a ‘believer’ in the JW religion, we had a visiting Sunday speaker.
As I was listening, I noticed how this man struggled and I cringed a little bit. I’m sure he was a nice enough guy, but it struck me how uneducated he sounded..I realized the Witness religion was a place where a man with no higher education and nothing going for him could feel ‘important’.
Over time there I heard enough sad but laughable examples of this.
i haven't been on here in quite some time so i apologize if i missed a similar thread already (i did look for one :) ) anyways, just to be clear i think the jw response to covid in general has been really positive and proactive and they've done really well trying to educate people on covid, doing zoom meetings, etc to prevent spread within the congregations.
the part that i find interesting is how compliant and non-apocalyptic the branch has been during all of this.
even as someone who's a bit of a skeptic i found myself wondering if this might be the beginning of the end between covid, economic upheaval, and blm.
OPTIMISTICSKEPTIC:
So many have left the religion in recent years and the decreased numbers mean less $upport. But, their main contributing demographic are loyal JW seniors who are the most vulnerable in this pandemic! Once these people are gone, that’s it. The religion will never see the like of them again.
I also think the religion likes Zoom because it wants to sell off more kingdom halls. The religion also had a campaign to ‘reactivate’ some inactives - I assume to replace those lo$t in recent years. But, I’m glad they didn’t contact me.

Another single born-in once made a remark that she would never do what I did no matter what (referring to the fact that I worked full time). It almost sounded as if she would rather have died. Whatever.
The fact is Witnesses are afraid of the Real world and some don’t want to work and just wanted to be in the ministry. Their big mistake, sadly, was to promote hateful judgmentalism in congregations towards responsible people who DID work and prepare for retirement...For this attitude these JWs can ROT... I’d never give them anything - and I’m glad I was not contacted by JWs in this pandemic. Purportedly they were looking to ‘reactivate’ people..but I suspect they are looking for yet more candidates they can ask for money to give to desperate JWs of every sort plus those there who never wanted to work.
i agree with people who say all lives matter.
i think blm is a racist group.
if white people pushed an agenda saying white lives matter, some people would have a conniption..

didn't the letter say that each head of household would choose for himself how to apply the "suggestions"?.

I had read the Witnesses were trying to contact some ‘faders’ to reactivate them. I’m glad I wasn’t on anybody’s list. Nobody wasted a stamp. Well that’s good.
I guess these hypocritical Users know they weren’t going to get so much as the time of day from a retired person who was viewed so negatively back in the day. Maybe word got to them about my views about the religion!
