how many times did you see elders hounding congregation members to quit their jobs due to missing meetings?.

my brother worked at a grocery store at 16 years old.

he would miss tuesday's ministry school due to his work schedule.

I’m glad types like these hypocritical hounders never swayed me!

In addition to all the things I mentioned in my previous posts, I also had to deal with envy and being scrutinized over dress!!! There were some older married types there who acted like I “owed” somebody something. (Yes. Me, who worked full-time.) I never asked anybody for anything. I busted my a$$ and got to weeknight meetings on cold nights. Meanwhile, these delusional farts just came from their nice dinner table.

There was a very ignorant element of older married ladies in the hall who had no idea what it was like for a single person who worked. These fools imagined people who weren’t married had no problems. Meanwhile, I had to do everything myself. Because of these attitudes, I made sure I never did favors for them or any other Users in the hall.

After I ‘Faded’ from the JW religion I always regretted that I missed the opportunity to tell some of these people off. .But, I was glad to be done with it all…I did run into several around town over the years and was cordial and told them I was Retired.

If you didn’t get college or a decent job with benefits…just WHO would be supporting you today??…..(Nobody.)

This is why I’m SO thankful today I ignored all these hypocrites ..For everyone’s information: a woman either needs to get married OR get a career to support herself or she ends up poor in old age. It’s as simple as that.

Anybody pushing poverty for somebody ELSE when they are living an affluent life should rot...There is No forgiveness for them.

It’s true that many JWs had lower paying jobs. They were in many cases low paid partly because they wanted work that was ‘close by’ so they wouldn’t ‘miss meetings’. 🙄 So, they made this useless sacrifice and today in their old age they have a lower SS benefit!

Too bad many Witnesses have piss-poor knowledge about necessary things like how the world works. This is why I am so glad I was raised a non-JW ‘worldly’ person because at least I learned practical things that would benefit me in life.

Welcome to any Newbies….In looking through this thread, a lot of these posters don’t post here anymore including the OP.

A lot of time has passed...I hope they got on with life in the Real world after their unpleasant JW experience. I wish them the best.

I have memories of Easter when I was in grade school. It was somber and happy. Somber because of the death of Jesus Christ and happy because of his resurrection.

I remember all the decorations, my new Easter Sunday coat, etc. church with my siblings and Mom (Dad not a church-goer) and the feeling of Spring.

I don’t know but am I getting the sense that these letters and Memorial invitations are stepped up more-so this year??

It sure seems that way at least from what I’m reading on here! I know there was always a campaign before the memorial but I’m getting the sense it’s more frenzied this year….If so, I wonder if it’s because the JW religion has lost members during the pandemic and they are frantically trying to make up for it by attracting potential new studie$… Also, I suppose it cannot be forgotten that those old faithful in the religion are passing away. When this demographic is gone, that’s it. There’ll be fewer people left in the religion with any disposable income to go up to with an envelope!

Just a thought.

i have informed my elders of my heavenly call during the time they met with me for my reinstatement last year on june, 2022. i informed my congo secretary also.

I agree with your post. Many of us are long and happily gone from the JW religion.

We come on here out of curiosity and also because there are many Newbies leaving the religion who deserve to hear our stories. We have felt everything they are feeling. The religion would love if ex-JWs went away silently and didn’t speak of their experience! Also, some ex-JWs are hung up on proving how ‘over it’ they are!

I don’t have to prove anything to anybody. I like talking about my negative experience in the religion because I don’t think it’s talked about enough. After what I have read about what’s happened in the religion in the 21 years I’m out, I’m very Glad I’m no longer there. If I were there now I would be a target of too many desperate fools waiting for Armageddon to solve their problems because they were led to believe they didn’t need to work to plan for retirement.👎 I’d run in the opposite direction from these people.

i cannot find written anywhere that after 6 months without preaching activities reported you are considered an inactive jw.. where is this written?

or is it a non-written rule?.

Yes, thanks..I am certainly right about that. In fact, I’m Super right.

If given the chance, these people will keep taking without a second thought until there is nothing left but a dried-up husk that blows away. In some cases there is even no thanks. There is just a wrong sense of entitlement. Being lazy Users wanting things for nothing is Bad enough. BUT, criticizing hard working people is something else entirely. In fact, it is something that can never be forgiven, as far as I’m concerned, and I wouldn’t want these people around me.

I’m Glad you as well were Too smart to give these undeserving JW parasites anything. Nice to know you also didn’t cave in and fall for anybody’s BS or guilt trips because they will try anything!!

I don’t know what is or isn’t written about ‘Inactives’ but I’m a walk-away ‘Fader’ for about twenty-one years.

I’m of the opinion they are looking for people they considered an ‘asset’. They certainly didn’t consider me an asset, but that’s okay..In other words, they are looking for ex-JWs they can get something out of.. The Inactive/Fader has to be a person/family perceived to have something people wanted:..were they known for hospitality and opening up their home and feeding the freeloading ‘Friends’? Did they do peoples’ taxes for cheap, repair cars? Etc..Then they’ll be sought after.

However, if they are single women like me who were criticized for full-time jobs and wouldn’t do favors for Users or give $ to Deadbeats..and made no secret of it - I doubt anybody in the religion is actively looking for them.

What I have found interesting in reading on here, etc. is how the religion is telling the R&F about conditions just after Armageddon. They are told that paradise won’t be right away and there will be inconveniences and so on..etc.

This was always speculation first of all. Now, it seems they are ‘fleshing out’ the fantasy with ‘details’ that nobody could possibly know.. I wonder if it is just to give the impatient rank&file JWs something to think about OR is it to give the impression they have an actual pipeline to the ‘divine’ and can see into the future??

Back to the Meetings------Back to Covid.

a lot of pimos are reporting that returning to the meetings is backfiring in that covid is spreading among the members returning.. post;.

so last saturday was my first meeting back in person and well it completely backfired.

last night i got a text from my group overseer saying that someone in the hall tested positive for covid and that we need to get tested(great 🎉).. honestly i kinda expected this.

I am sure they are hoping this getting back to meetings would be a success. Then they can determine what the actual loss of rank & file members over the past two years is…And I am not referring to Witnesses who died from Covid, but those who actually Don’t want to come back to the religion.

I think they want to desperately know what the Real number of remaining R&F are. (Glad it’s not me anymore!)🙏🏻

People can ‘fake it’ on Zoom. Although I do realize some ‘believers’ like Zoom and don’t want to go to the physical meetings. I think this poses a problem for the religion because they can never really be sure…I think to them the real test is showing up in person.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this all works out.
