spotted this picture on a friend's page, he was highlighting the mental health issue.
however,we thought the magazine on stress was deliberately placed in the summer months because for any jw going to a convention, paying high season hotel rates for themselves or their whole family to stay near the convention centre, fighting coworkers and managers to get the time off work, travelling expenses, buying their own meals for the family, buying new shiny suits and dresses to impress (particularly if you have teenage girls who are looking for their prince), and more.... by the time they come home again and straight away back to work, their nerves will be so frazzled that their stress levels will have sky rocketed!.

BETH SARIM:
Wearing a denim outfit, however nice.
If you do, expect to be followed around by some idiot.. It was similar to a store employee following a potential shoplifter around a store. Pathetic really.🙄 I had this happen years ago in the early days my ‘Fade’ when I went one Sunday.
kingdom halls will be the thing of the past.. conventions (mini assembly halls will still be going on) but will charge for attending and parking and always a donation.
elders will play a much smaller role since csa.
cart preaching will replace door to door.
FOOLEDNOMORE:
As others have said, the JW religion will probably be around for a while.
They will try to reinvent themselves possibly. They will still keep the public preaching work to some degree to keep their charitable status, as has been mentioned.
What I really think will greatly weaken them, in the not too distant future, is the demise of those very elderly ‘faithful’ Witnesses.. When these people go, so will their donations.
As a result of this, the religion will also lose more numbers.. In my opinion, other JW family members presently hanging on and ‘faking it’ for their elderly parents’ sake, will leave.. Once the elderly Witnesses die, everyone will see some family members just stop coming.
Ultimately, at some point in the future…the religion will resemble other defunct sects in the USA. Time will tell.
for the most of us, we have left the jws...and even though we are no longer jw, many of us are still interested in their beliefs, doctrines and practices as currently practiced.
i was trying to sort out in my mind why i still care about what they are doing.
i think the answer to that is a hope that something will develop in the jws that will wake up a lot of others, and selfishly, a lot of my friends.

WING COMMANDER & EVERYBODY:
Just yesterday I spoke to one of my few JW friends.
I told them that I heard Anthony Morris is no longer a governing body member and I asked what happened. I was told I was mistaken and that he fairly recently gave a talk (for whatever). I said I heard he was out. Again, I was told that whatever I heard must be ‘wrong’. I let it drop and changed the subject.
This certainly tells me (as if I didn’t already know).. that there is a news blackout among the rank & file Witnesses. It isn’t openly talked about. If this person didn’t hear about it, no doubt there are others who haven’t heard it either.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH:
What keeps me curious is watching how much worse the religion has gotten over the last 23 years since I ‘Faded’.
I remember all the self-righteous individuals who knocked me back then because I wouldn’t quit my full-time job to pioneer. I predicted (to myself) that I didn’t want to be anywhere near these Witnesses when reality hit them.. Well, reality has come in the form of retirement age with these people being unprepared. I hate being proven right about this.. I can never forget the un-Christian class distinctions in the congregations! Of course, single working women like myself were at the bottom!
When I was attending years ago, the demographic in the congregation was suburban types. There were no panhandlers there coming up to people. Now? You have got too many needy people all in one place..with too few responsible working people plus a religion with No social programs! Not a place I would want to be!
If I were stupid enough to still be there, I would be targeted to give money for people who chose not to work.. I would then end up having to tell some idiot off!
this afternoon i drove by an old hall i attended ( barrington illinois) and noticed that it had been sold, it is now an adventist .
church !
now here is my drive-home thinking.. back in the 80's when i attended i was newly married, and had a young child.
FOOLEDNOMORE:
What happened to you is a consequence of telling everybody your business.
This is the problem in the Witness religion: no boundaries. Everybody is in everybody else’s business.
Everybody doesn’t have to know every minute detail about somebody’s life. Your job is really nobody’s business. While somebody may have an idea where you work - why do they have to know everything that happens there??
See, I could never stand this about the congregation. As far as them telling somebody to quit their job, they tried this with me just because it was a full time job. They thought they were going to ‘abase’ me because they have serious issues about women. Thankfully, I paid no attention and in time was able to retire.. I didn’t care what these idiots thought about me.
If you had quit your job and became destitute these people wouldn’t care. I also believe some Witnesses were/are partly motivated by envy and jealousy when they hear about somebody’s decent job! Surely you’ve heard the expression ‘misery loves company’. That’s what a lot of them are all about, IMO.

FISHERMAN:
While I think many JWs know that somebody only gets removed as a GB if they no longer qualify, the few that I know either forgot this or are in denial.. They think he stepped down for health reasons.
I myself think there was a problem and he was removed. Whether or not the real reason will leak out remains to be seen.
I know this thread started out somewhat serious, but I’d hate to see it turn into something ridiculous.
i was out on the ministry(tm) in the 1980's when i was pie-on-earring.
i was only a lowly publisher(tm) being coached by a rather odd elder(tm).. one of the publications(tm) had recently mentioned japan and the growth(tm) of jws there.. the elder(tm), brother(tm) i was with offered the magazines(tm) to the householder(tm).. then he stated, 'there are (gave the reported numbers at the time.
i can't remember the number he stated), jehovah's witnesses(tm) in japan.'.
STAN LIVEDEATH:
I was as embarrassed as you can imagine being a Witness and felt like the stupidest fool in the world in a clown suit when I was in the door to door work!
I didn’t feel right about public preaching maybe because I didn’t believe in bothering people and not entirely sure I believed of all of the teachings. As others have said, if someone said No.. I gladly turned and left.
Even though I went out in car ‘service’ groups in suburban neighborhoods and not the dangerous urban areas some on here have, I still didn’t feel entirely safe at times. Now, I see we were putting ourselves on the front lines and anything could have happened to us.
As far as it being an urgent ‘warning work’, I didn’t buy that because a real warning work should use the media. No, it’s nothing but a busy making work and a visible yardstick by which to judge the rank & file JWs. I think it’s also the ‘claim to fame’ by which the religion is recognized.

HELLOTHERE & BETH SARIM:
Regarding conventions and rank & file JWs told to attend regardless of whether they have to work to feed their families/put a roof over their heads:
What can people expect from clueless men shielded from reality and everyday life?? They are sheltered with all their needs taken care of by suckers who bust their a$$ working for a living! This is why I had no regard for anything they said back in the day. I could see their articles were written by people who knew nothing about life. They expected you to go out on a limb. Glad I never listened.
Any working Witness who decided to attend some worthless time/waster convention who then lost their job surely learned the hard way not to listen to fools. This also goes double to any Witness who quit a decent job only to regret it later.
