CAREFUL:
Sorry, I’m not buying it. If anybody wants to believe they are ‘building halls in Africa’, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell them.
I am inclined to believe like VIDIOT does that halls there would be relatively inexpensive to make.

1290 jw congregations have been deleted since 4th dec 2022. i have a full map so you can explore active/deleted congs, and also orphaned halls https://analytics.jws-library.one/viewmap.html.
many of the deletions in the usa appear to be foreign language groups.

'they turn the story around to make it seem like you are at fault, deflecting attention and blame away from them to make you feel guilty.
this type of emotional manipulation is called gaslighting.. .
deflection is manipulation, and if it's coupled with other toxic relationship behaviors, it may be necessary to remove yourself from the situation.'.
BLONDIE:
This exact same thread was posted twice already!
The OP claims somebody ‘hacked’ his PC.
i can confirm that the co during one of his service talks stated that zoom is a provision for elderly, infirmed, as well as people who might need it on occasion due to health reasons, otherwise you are expected to be in person at meetings and in the ministry.
this had to come down from the top.
maybe they do not want to put it in a gb update or broadcast since that would be too public i suppose.
I’m sure this is mainly about them not getting enough donations in boxes (maybe some missing those green handshakes).. besides the near empty kingdom halls.
It would be too bad for JWs if they got rid of Zoom. I just don’t see certain people being forced back due to health, etc. If they totally got rid of Zoom then maybe these people might get a Sunday meeting in once in a while. But that’s about it.

Oops! Looks like the PC is at it again and made the same mistake of generating the EXACT SAME THREAD as several days ago.
with so much being said about the jws shunning policies again at the present time i thought it would be worth reposting this article.. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmc9803876/.
THOMAS MORE:
Back when I was in, I experienced soft shunning to some degree due to my full-time job.
I didn’t have a name for it but the feeling was like being on a job where there was a clique that didn’t like you.. But, with the Witnesses, I didn’t care for what I saw at a distance (the judgy preachiness) and I wouldn’t really have wanted them around me.
So, I’m out many years and retired…As others have said, it was no loss to me.. So, if the religion’s stupid shunning routine had a purpose, it failed with me. Thankfully.
so talking with friends and they mentioned they just visited their daughter at bethel.
so i asked did she say why anthony morris is no longer on the gb?.
he had no clue about that.
PUNK OF NICE:
I have to agree that most active Witnesses are in a near total news blackout with regard to all that’s happening in their religion. This includes the AM3 mystery as well as other things like the magnitude of halls being sold.
We seem to know much more than they do!
i just found out from my jehovah's witness cousin that my old congregation is being shuttered due to lack of elders, less than 20 members attending, and that the congregation cannot meet their monthly expenses.. here is a congregation that was started in 1975 with less than 15 members.
it grew to 185 members in the 1990's.
the congregation grew so large that the elders decided to split the congregation in two.
BETH SARIM:
I would agree with you there but what I’m referring to are JWs who are in a time warp mentally, I think. These people weren’t uprooted because a hall was closed. They just moved away. Now, they want to recapture maybe some good feelings they had in their old environment once upon a time.
Problem is: maybe the hall and certain people aren’t there anymore.. A lot of people in general might have thought of their hall (or church) as something solid and reliable like the Rock of Gibraltar.. But, what we have seen in recent years shows us that is no longer the case.
To me, this must be a sad thing for the JWs and churchgoers in general.

RULES & REGULATIONS:
With regard to this phenomenon of kingdom halls being sold: ..it’s too bad this information is compartmented and many JWs don’t necessarily know about it unless it happens in their area.
I have some JW acquaintances (who tend to be in the typical JW news-blackout)..who moved from one part of the country to another.. They feel nostalgia for their former area and ‘miss the friends’. I don’t know if they are aware that the ‘old days’ can’t be recaptured because things have changed. Maybe certain people they remember aren’t around anymore for whatever reason.

I believe this is obviously directed at the older people in the congregations (Baby Boomers and maybe the few older people there).. I’m Glad I left years ago.
These Witnesses have been waiting forever for ‘the New System’.. Some of them, sadly, sacrificed so much needlessly maybe not getting that decent job and struggling now financially in their senior years!
It was drilled into their heads to be in constant expectation of the ‘End’. To add insult to injury, many thought that the Covid pandemic was ‘it’. They feel let down because it was not. Now it seems the religion wants to readjust their thinking making them feel their expectations aren’t ‘right’. Well, where did they get these expectations from??
ST GEORGE OF ENGLAND:
I am Glad that you did get to do the normal things you did (university, retirement, etc.). Just imagine the many thousands of JWs who didn’t. They are sitting in congregations growing old waiting for the ‘new world’ in order to live. Doesn’t seem natural, does it.
