FYI, I just got off the phone with my father, and we talked for a solid 30 minutes, yet he made no mention of my mother even mentioning that I had came to the memorial.
Maybe it was all dramatics??
i'm just going to start at the beginning.. i was anticipating the memorial all day.
i was nervous but excited, kind of like standing in line for a roller coaster.. ok. so erika gets ready at her house, and i get ready at mine.
i'm wearing a black suit with a light green shirt, and a tie that had hues of green and yellow in it.

At the high school I graduated from, there was a teacher who was known as a lesbian, and drove a big jacked up Jeep.
Then there was a kid, who's parents had way too much money, who drove a big jacked up Chevy truck, complete with truck nuts.
One day, some students ( not me of course) took his nuts, and put them on her jeep. She drove around with them for a WEEK!
Boy was she pissed when she found them.
I never knew azaelas grew in Vietnam...
But that's cool.
When I was 8 or 9, a raccoon used to hang around our house. I would feed him, but then one day I stopped. So he tore up the trashcans everyday for the next 3 weeks...
just a thought.
i don't think i've mentioned it before, but i have a friend and fellow grad student who studies tattooing, both in 'traditional' cultures and modern.. he's a great guy and throws great parties too...(and his wife designs lingerie...how lucky can you get??).
anyway, here's his website.

for the record, I guess it isn't solely his book, but its a book he's contributed to.
but i have, for a fact, read a couple of his articles.

Believe it or not, I actually own one of his books, and I have a funny story about his books.
Right next to my piercing shop is a tattoo shop. We don't have the same owners, but we're business friends. We advertise together and party together. That tattoo shop is considered one of the best shops in the area to get tattooed, and houses several award winning artists.
Now, most people know how "tribal" tattoos are regarded amongst heavily tattooed people, and this shop caters to well, heavily tattooed people.
So when kids walk in and ask to see the "tribal" pieces, the artists have a copy of his book, and they show it to the kids, and tell them that that's the only tribal they do.
that's what i experience when jwd goes down.. what about you?.
warlock .
I actually get some work done. And find myself IMing people I'm close to, and going... "can you pull up JWD real quick? No? Its down? Error? Logged for an admin? Yeash, me too. Ok. Well, how's life?"
just thought i'd do something i always wanted too.
mr c always said he's dump me if i had a tattoo, well we're not together anymore so i can and i am!
richie or those in the know - how much pain can i expect to look forward to?.
how's the tat looking rich? :)
We relined everything with a 14 round needle, and then filled in all the sprinkles on my arm. Its all sore and puffy, but it looks good,

Well crumpet, I just got home from a 5 and a half hour session. And I'm perfectly fine.

Well some might say that with all the tattoos, piercings and skin stretching you may be releasing your emotions through such actions! Using these forms of to deal with your pain and anger!
I hate to say it, but "some" might be wrong.
The ways I alter my body are for my own pleasure. Recently, I hung my body from 6 metal hooks pierced through my back. The majority of people wouldn't consider that to be a sane, much less healthy action. However, I found that by doing what the mind deems impossible, I gave myself much more force and drive in real life. There is no greater feeling than to watch the earth spin below you, without you on it.
These actions have nothing to do with pain or anger, yet they have everything to do with peace and happiness.
To understand this requires some perspective broadening, but I'm sure you can grasp it.

The Wanderer:
We see eye to eye on a lot, despite the vast difference in our ages.
Surely, a man of 40 doesn't walk around judging people simply because they have chosen to tattoo themselves. Tell me, does it affect that persons ability to work? to live? to love? I'd say no.
Here's a little tidbit I just heard recently. There are more people getting tattooed and pierced daily than there are babies born. When an act exceeds the rate of infancy, its considered mainstream. So maybe you will be right, and we will all feel like dumbasses, but it will be a large number of dumbasses. Hell, that's how I plan on finding other cool people to hang out with in the nursing home.
And I know these tattoos prob. won't look as good when I'm 80. But I don't really care, because all the kids will more than likely be out getting chameleon skin, or whatever is popular in 2060.
Respectfully,
the RichieRicher.
