Oh the weirdness: Observations from a study
by howdidtihappen ini started studying jw with a work friend because she used to keep me at arms length and i knew it was because of her religion.
she and her family are such lovely people so i thought maybe there was something to it, how bad can it be, etc.
i was enticed by this girls friendship as she has been spending more time with me but continues to say "you're not one of us yet" which continually freaks me out.

The Problem with the problem
by Terry injehovah's witnesses have an invisible problem which is as unseen as jesus.
the problem with their problem is that it is unseen.. what do i mean by this?.
no future.. the future jehovah's witnesses prepare for is not their future at all.. the jw future is armageddon (very soon!

Man, brings back a lot of memories.
I to look at those that seemed to have wealth in the Congregation, trying to figure out how they did it. Even elders! How'd they find the time?!?
Of course many had means because of previous generations in their family that did not know "the truth". Many were very good at the Network Marketing craze. Some started businesses, and hired low wage bros and sisters to cary the biz. Some were two faced, double lifers, that really never "made the truth their own", but knew how to use the congregational structure for networking.
Now, I have set my mind on making up for lost time. Don't have a lot of time left, but I figure I'll do the best I can. Maybe I'll be able to help my loyal JW parents when the need me, and be able to pass a little something on to the kids.
We shall see.
As always Terry, a good topic.

Last Letter to The Congregation Committee
by Marvin Shilmer inlast letter to the congregation committee.
today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing a bit of watchtower history.
it shows the last letter sent to the congregation committee of congregations with instruction on how to go about forming their replacement congregational governing structure.

You had secretaries who couldn't spell and didn't know how to write a letter and had no clue what a filing system was.
There were Field Service Overseers who loathed field service and were far removed from the cheerleader mentality that the position required.
You had school overseers who couldn't speak, teach, had no command of the English language, and misapplied the information and speaking tips so carefully articulated in the School Guidebook.
There were Presiding Overseers with no ability to preside, were afraid to delegate, and let the position go to their heads.
And the Watchtower conductor was likely to be a doofus who didn't prepare, didn't study, didn't engage the congregation and get folks involved, and who couldn't teach.
Willy: Funny, it's still that way!

Thanks to Those That Went Before Us
by OnTheWayOut ini want to say thanks to those that have blazed the trail for others to become former jehovah's witnesses.. many were disfellowshipped or disassociated, some stopped going to meetings before "faders" existed.
many had no internet or any way of gathering with others who left the jw's.
later, the likes of randy watters and ray franz gave many a sense of a group conscience with their efforts and writings.

First of all, thanks to the Internet, closely followed by Simon and this forum. I would never have had the guts to buy an "apostate" book.
Years of doubt have been justified.

By not buying holiday gifts throughout the year, we were able to alot more time to spiritual things. We were able to work less, and spend time in the ministry.
Most Christmas days now, we meet with our fellow Christian warriors and participate in the door to door ministry.

Are you enjoying your REST? Well, the Governing Body SAID you would!
by Terry inthe governing body of jehovah's witnesses: reliable, spirit-led, trustworthy and accurate in their teachings?.
or: unreliable, human led, untrustworthy and inaccurate in their guesswork?.
you decide!
