A farce elder here
by His Excellency injust to share a little about me:.
i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .
makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

Wow! That paragraph about dance parties is one of the best "read between the lines" examples of conditioning that the Watchtower is becoming known for.

I don't think I heard one "complaint" about the inaccuracy. I will say that the story would have been better had they stuck to the bible fantasy.

What JW beliefs did you used to hate trying to defend?
by DuvanMuvan inas one of the jw "young ones" i was always expected to witness to my friends at school if i wanted to make god's heart glad or whatever but i didn't.
the closest i ever got was just explaining why we didn't celebrate christmasetc.
even then i was just reciting things i read in publications.. one topic i always tried to avoid talking about was birthdays.

Blood.
But, "birthdays" is really the silliest of them all.

Thanks for the review Terry.
Although I respect your intellect, I whole heartedly disagree with your take on this one.
As a non fundamentalist, I think the story in the bible is pretty incredible, and could have been told as is, or close. Some liberties with the story, fine, some brutality, gore, some blue filters on the lense, but come on...why not just call him "Bill", and write your own story.
Other than that, the movie was poorly cast. (I like Jennifer Connelly, but wrong. Love Anthony Hopkins, but what a waste of talent).
CGI was horrible.
I still advise to not waste your time on this one. Wait till it comes out on DVD if you just can't resist.
