it appears to me on this thread that all those defending the trinity are doing so by explaining it in just the way that jws believe.
the irony just knocks me out
if i were going to comment on a deep philosophical doctrine, i would first outline what that doctrine was,has the wtbs ever dne this properly with the trinity?
from memory they have only ever reasoned at the level"one plus one plus one = 3, not one" type of argument, and odd references to trinities in pagandom.. surely a college education would be of benefit to them so they know how to present a thesis?.
love.

no more or less than any other slice of society
remember at quick builds whenever a prayer was being said everyone was told to remove their hard hats and cooking hats etc,.
even if you were in the middle of doing something important or dangerous.. so was there some kind of divine intervention stopping gravity during a prayer.. and would there have been any compensation to anyone hit during a prayer..

how much longer are you going to stay there?
A mostly-JW apartment complex owned by a cheapskate landlord where most of the people are nosy.
Got it.

how can anyone explain the unexplainable....
well i hate to disagree with everyone but the honest answer to the question is yes.
if there is nothing and no-one to live for and no-one will miss you and no-one is dependant on you then sure.
it's all very well people saying go and climb a mountain sit by a stream listen to some music etc etc etc but if all of this is being done alone then what's the fucking point.
if all that the future holds is a lonely meaningless sexless emotionless crap-work life egged on by well-meaning perhaps folk who live thousands of miles away then ...
i think i'd rather die
ah ya bandit ninj...
can't believe you beat me to that one.
fave rocker??
as a former missionary, i would eagerly and greedily look forward to going home and seeing local brothers and sisters.... i would try to give as many public talks and service meeting experiences as possible.... at either of these venues, i could generally take home anywhere from $100 to $300 from all the $20 or more green handshakes.... get-togethers were also an excellent tax-free money making venue (see all your old friends, and get cards from them)... and would generally net from $500-$1000 for a get-together (after an absence of at least a year or more).... so a trip to the us could easily bring in $2k..... tax free.... plus all the perks while visiting the us... the friends that treat you to nice restaurants, lend you their car, etc..... anyone else want to share their green handshakes stories????
let's expose greed green handshakes for what they are!
indulgences for the rich, greed for the clergy order of special fulltime servants!.

that's a bit cynical isn't it.
i was the recipient of a lot of financial help ..and i was also the giver.
on one occasion my car had given up and i was relying on public transport. 2 people in my group gave me £500 each. they did not do this to get something in return.
in our hall there was also a sister that would give all the pioneers something at assembly times...3 times a year and we had around 10 - 15 pioneers usually. when she was failing in health she asked me to continue to make the donations - giving me the money to do so. no-one amongst the pioneers ever knew who gave them money until she died when i told the cong in my funeral talk.
so while there may be some who carry on this practice in the hope of some return others do it because they are just decent people.
anyone against euthanasia if you are sick with a terminal disease and you don't wish to die a protracted death?.
i have thought about this a lot since a coworker's grandfather here in the u.s., dying painfully of cancer, drove around and saw his relatives one final time and then killed himself.
they found him in a car by the side of the road.
got enough problems with the youth in scotland????
(hah beat ya ninj)
