I forgot how much guilt and control played into it. That leaning into it reminds me of alpha male dogs. Next time the do it, take a rolled up newspaper and whack them across the nose.

If/when you do meet with them, have your resignation in writing. I'd also give them, in writing, until Jan.1 to find another site for the book study. That may be one reason they don't want you to quit. Do the clean sweep.

i just returned home from the kingdom hall.

i am an elder.. after the meeting all the elders were called to the back room.

i thought this was an impromptu elders' meeting.

Sorry that happened to you. Having little kids sit still for that long for any reason is an ordeal. But to be blind sided is not right.

My father was an elder. Being an elder's kid stinks. Now as an adult, I would suggest that you spend that time with your family, resign the position and enjoy the kids while you can. If you have a book study in your house, have it moved too. That is murder on a wife too. Enjoy your family while they are young because they aren't young forever.

sorry everyone but i need to rant.

about a week and a half ago we hired someone to work at my office.

up to that point only my boss and i worked here, however we realized that there was a lot of work that had to be done and we needed help.

What about any seniors/retirees? Or if it just a few hours, what about moms duing the day before tha afternoon, while the kids are in school?

You might also try rehab services to see if somone needs work exprience who may have been disabled

My Mother's Being Announced in November As OFF The Pioneer List

after 40 years of serving as a regular pioneer and being on the infirm list, the circuit overseer, the po and another elder told her today in a 30 min.

conversation she was going to be announced as no longer pioneering.

the co mostly talked about me, my wife and daughter.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but it sems to me that the whole thing was a carefully worded reproof for attending the wedding and association, simply replacing 2 elders with an elder and CO.

JWs and Red Cross

sorry to pose this question if it is here on the board somewhere.

i have been sifting for hours and even though i've found lots of great information, i can't find what i am looking for.. motivated by the hurricane tragedies, i decided to become a red cross volunteer on a local level.

i had my first training on saturday and came away feeling very good about my decision.

I taught First Aid and swimming lessons through the Red Cross. CPR was also at one time handled through the Red Cross.

If that were the case regarding blood, there would be no JW nurses or doctors or any other ones working in the medical field..

Former Bible Study Wants to Talk...

okay, here's the update.

i sent an email to my former bible study after a phone conversation we had where i told her i'd disassociated myself.

in the email, i included information about the shunning practice (which she had no idea about).
