What are your reasons for posting here?
by sonnyboy ini'm curious as to what drives some people to post at certain boards.. for me, i first came here over a year ago thinking this was a pro-jw site, ready to jump on the dubs.
lol.
little did i know.... i posted here exclusively for a while, but then found that the repetitive topics became tedious.

"What the Bleep Do We Know?" An interesting pseudo documentary on quantum mechanics/metaphysics/philosophy for the layman (such as myself :-). The explanation of the physical world at an atomic level was easy to understand and the film did "gravitate" towards the Grand Unified Theory of things. The theories of "being" in a metaphysical sense was intriguing and took from a few viewpoints, most of which were subtle dissections of the drawbacks of organized religion in favour of a more self aware/actualized choice driven system of belief. Some of the historical accounts that supported some of the theory was rather flimsy and had no factual basis for being in the film. The parallel plot of Marlee Matlin's life and journey of self awareness was relevant to the ideas presented and did so with some amount of humour. An interesting film to make you think.

What's it like?
by Jerohobobonadad inhello all.. i have always wondered what feelings people have in the hours/minutes prior to getting baptised, the seconds immediately afterwards and then the first few hours thereafter?.
i've never done it, but it seems like it would be a real head f-!.
anyone willing to share their experiences?.

My wife keeps a copy of my baptism on video tape inside a drawer I have to go in every morning.....label side up. I think I"m going to move it somewhere (like to the trash) and see if she notices.
Put a large magnet under it for a day and tell her that whats on there now is how much you wish to remember it,......:-)

'This is the point I'm establishing, people with higher IQ's can see patterns more easily in the chaos. Illuminated ones typically are of this type
and so are schizophrenics (that is proven ;-)

Is there REALLY a Universal Moral Code?
by Seeker4 inaccording to romans 2:14,15, "whenever people of the nations that do not have the law, do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves.
they are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts..." according to this verse, and the witnesses, this supposedly proves that we all have a conscience built into us by god, and we all to a greater or lesser degree, exercise that.. i've discussed this with my co-workers a few times, and i've been trying to find one absolutely universal law that essentially all peoples, tribes, groups have agreed on, and it seems there are always exceptions to this idea of a truly universal moral code proving we've all got a built in conscience courtesy of the creator.. murder?
that one seems to have been violated by every culture ever known.

What do we mean by "natural law"? In its simplest definition, natural law is that "unwritten law" that is more or less the same for everyone everywhere. To be more exact, natural law is the concept of a body of moral principles that is common to all humankind and, as generally posited, is recognizable by human reason alone. Natural law is therefore distinguished from -- and provides a standard for -- positive law, the formal legal enactments of a particular society.

Welcome akafreelife,
Many "groups" have had affiliations or considered as Illuminati such as the Knights Templar, Masons, Rosicrusions and others that don't come to mind at the moment.
Being enlightened doesn't mean you're out to rule the world. Wanting to rule the world doesn't require enlightenment and neither does being religious, though i don't think they're mutually exclusive unfortunately
