The last time I had a hyperbole, I got the munchies and played vids all night....
i've been reading around this subject of late and it seems to make a lot of sense.
i'm wondering if anyone is convinced and/or has seen anything that can substantiate or corroborate the 'facts' set out in these arguments.. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/bloodlines/russell.htm.
i was particularly fascinated to read the following:.
Indeed. Why would "they" care about such a small group of fundie nutjobs whose percentage of the popluation and influence is so small and whose beliefs are too left field for mainstream consumption? There's so much more "big" money and power out there. Logic fail.
my mil of 38 years - who has not spoken to me for the 9 years since i left her cult - died on sunday.. today, as a favor to my sil who has spoken to me very rarely, for the same reasons, over the same period of time, i was moving some personal items to her home from the nursing home.
in this instance i guess it is ok to speak with me - if i have a strong back and a conveyance that aids her needs at the moment.. anyway, in the parking lot of the apartment complex where she lives, while we are moving in those items, guess who shows up?
five or six of my old 'best friends'.
Sorry for your loss.
Props to you for not doing what you had full right in doing. A better man than they will likely ever know.
Fuck 'em all.
my italian friend loves going to the "feasts" that occur in italy, boston or nyc.
these feasts feature a "saint" with dollar bills pinned around her and they parade the saint in a long procession and chant "viva (whomever)".
they are quite serious about this and are proud to talk about the past generations of observers who appreciated the events.
eh, whatever
anders behring breivik killed 77 people, that,s 77 people folks.. but the prison term can be extended for as long as breivik.
is considered dangerous.
what the hell !!!!!.
There is something admirable in the testimony of those quoted who are directly involved. It shows a strength of character and general social concern that supercedes personal interest. One should respect such, methinks.
OTOH, the sentence is lightweight considering the crime, as there should be no chance for release but I'd bet it's safe to say his deeds will not go forgotten and that he'll die in prison.
*a rebound is the need to fill a void with something we partly had confort in; whether in romance or faith.... .
i posted the following in another thread, and i welcome your feedback - especially if you disagree with my logic.
"as per one of my notes, my biggest fear is my, our, natural tendency for confirmation bias.
As regards the OP, it seems to me that the questions and reasoning that got me out of the jws weren't answered by a similar flavour of religion, or any for that matter. Your mileage may vary.
he was 82, and died from complications of heart surgery he had 3 weeks ago.

Though I was too young to remember it, the moon landings were a monunmental event in our history. Armstrong's name will live as long as humanity does. Quite the honor and I respected the man even more for his choice to live his life out quietly in private and not selling out to fame.
R.I.P. Neil Armstrong
1) mine, newhart show #2 - when "bob" wakes up and and said he had a dream he was running an inn in new hampshire.

still can't get it outta my little noggin.
Yea, St. Elsewhere stands out among the others already mentioned. Quite the left field twist there.
this may at first seem a strange question.
but it may be an extremely important question to ask.. .
let's start with the weird fact that only one in ten, or rather 10% of the cells in/on our physical body -- is what we would call "us".
If the atoms that are part of the brain that made the OP are nothing, then any discussion here is irrevelant.
