Star Trails

one of the things that i have only done once... but i would love to do again and again until i perfect the technique, is called star trails.. my camera is a canon 60d.

there is a way to "hack" the canon dslr's so that they get some amazing functionalities, such as taking a picture just by clapping (really cool for when you want to take a picture and no one is able to push the button) and taking pictures at certain intervals.. you can read more about this "hacking" on .

Theist proof of grand design? perhaps a hidden agenda in the back of my mind? Yes, I would like to elicit enlightened comments on that. my -self: I believe in a creator-worker, for I have struggled all my life with that in various ways. but I conceive the Creator or caring Creatriss as so superior, that any resulting structure, like the 10 planet regularity was a buid-in possibility from the first shove into action-time.

For an upcoming presentation at the local Astronomy society I am trying to prepare a striking handout. I have made multiple charts, ruler-like of the spacings in real proportion, about 1mm to the bode no.-- 10 mm for earth orbit. sun to pluto fits on a legal sheet.

IF you reverse these strips, it is striking that the lines [overlapp]* no, ALIGN again and again. So these notes are NODES areas where in a chladni plate, matter would congregate for lack of vibrations, and the system is TUNED.

Not vibrations, just classical mechanics doing it's job. Matter that begins in zones between what becomes planets eventually gets cleared out. There are no vibrations, there are no waves. Periodic relationships and distance ratios do not waves make.

Again with the waves thing, eh? You have some points that corroborate to certain facts, if in your usual cryptic style but you seem to have fascination with seeing waves where there are none.

Lagrange points and orbital resonances are based on gravity, classical mechanics, periodic relationships and ratios. Though waves are typically periodic in nature, these examples do not induce or are a result of wave propagation even if the latter is periodic. Nodes in physics are points on a standing wave and don't apply here.

If you have published peer reviewed references that say otherwise, please by all means, cite them. Otherwise, your musings are at best speculative, at worst, misleading.

Twitch: thank you good point. Other planetary systems will have different T&B sequences, with different upper and lower limitations around stars with different Resonances, but there will be a common feature to them, particularly if they are stable enough to harbour life for a evolution-life-time.

Do you consider this fact or speculation?

Considering the thread topic, I'd say the idea of "order of spacing" as some sort of theist proof of grand design is rather weak.

In the first place, for the theory to have real weight, all planetary systems would have to conform to the T-B theory. Of course, this is not realistic to expect as there is no way to verify this. So besides our own system, which doesn't seem to conform perfectly to the theory, what percentage of systems would it take to confirm such as a "law"? How exactly does this lend any credence to the idea of grand design, if even in one case the numbers have an acceptable tolerance of accuracy?

Musical notes exist at specific intervals and certain combinations sound pleasing but this isn't anything atheists need to defend as evidence for god. Why should it be any different for the distance relationships of planets?

No need. I understand the interaction of air and water currents in special localized situations where gliders and surfers take advantage of opposing currents that create temporary standing waves.

No, the bulges are due to gravity and are not waves in themselves. Gravity is a constant force and not wave like in it's effect on water or anything else. There is no rarefaction or compression in gravity as in air or water, nor frequency/wavelength.

That the earth rotates through these bulges does not constitute a wave that propagates or is the result of wave propagation. That waves exist in water is not because of the moon or gravity. Your terms are mixed up.

The Tides ARE standing waves. The two bulges ALWAYS remain ~STANDING under the advancing moon, lifted by it's gravity for the close one, and lifted by centrifugal force and least Moon-effect for the FAR one.

twitch, of course it could be argued that gravity is another form of acceleration, and that the peculiar shape of the gravity gradient under the MOON +or- the solar presence, is an accelration that is stationary under the moon, and it is this acceleration that is perceived as moving, a lifting seen as tides., because -- 'as the world turns'.

It's not argued, it's established and accepted fact by minds greater than mine, to which I provided evidence.
