Thanks for your opinion, Viviane.
I look forward to seeing you asking people here how they would like to be treated and you acting accordingly
lol
on another thread a poster made the comment that the golden rule was garbage.
she said it was arrogant and made assumptions.. i didn't want to derail that thread so i started another wondering if this is a common thought about this belief on this forum.
i guess i naively thought the value of doing to others as you want them to do to you was generally accepted as positive.. i understand people have different opinions of jesus as a person but i don't want to get into that here.

It is generally accepted as positive and you are not naive for thinking so. Just because someone has a different opinion on it doesn't make you naive or the idea less valid.
As mentioned, it's the beginning of empathy and consideration for those beyond your immediate circle of people. It's general politeness and courtesy to others and doesn't need to be more complicated than that. Besides, the way some people act towards others and like to be treated is not something I am capable of or wish to be like. So I defer to just being me and do the best I can with respect to others. Somewhere along the line, common ground can hopefully be found, and if the effort is appreciated, it usually is.
and i'm a little scared.. yes they are ready to come out.
my thumb pad is tingly and burning.
the skin around the stitches is numb.. with the injury being so bad, it is going to take at least a year for my thumb to be 90% recovered.
he feeling is like itchy, burny, tingly, pulling, sensitive, numbish - all in one. It's very irritating and my thumb can't 'rest' - like restless legs - if you've ever had that.
Yea, I got restless legs alright...
I recall the feeling of stitches most of all after an appendectomy at age 10. I vaguely recall waking up a few hours after the operation and feeling a stitchy itch which I promptly scratched, as one might do. Of course the haze of anaesthesia or whatever was still in effect and I, not knowing what I was doing, pulled most of them out. Not irie. Some noise ensued and I was soon attended by a blurred flurry of uniformed people who administered immediate sleep and a patch up job, naturally. The rest of my stay was uneventful and when the stitches finally came out, I'd say it tickled a bit, despite the soreness of the incision. Good thing it wasn't an operation that needed blood methinks.
But I hope you heal quickly. Hand injuries are limiting.
i profess to teach the truth to you all and get you to all to think and believe.
believing in christ through his words and not through evil religious cults, like hoj and jw, can and will save you.
do you all realize that every time you are victorious and receive something of value through your hard work and sweat, it was our holy god who blessed you.
This should be good...
So far, so good...lol

Didn't we already just do this???
Probably. It doesn't end, just the names and faces change ;)

it just dawned on me.
the existence of god can't be proved, neither is there evidence of god's inexistence.
so, i'm neither theist neither atheist.

Yea, methinks I know of this; nice to hear it explained.
Playing bass in a rock band is well, fun, creative and a good night out wit da boys. It's a hobby I enjoy and has carried me through some times. But the thing I really like are the moments in playing where there seems little thought about what to do when and what's coming next. There is no "trying", it just happens and I'm along for the ride, like autopilot. And usually there's no doubt that it's the "right" notes and phrases; you know that's how it "should" be. Sometimes if asked exactly what I played, I have to work it out quickly, because I really wasn't thinking about it. They're elusive moments and/or states it seems, as most times I'm usually caught up in the technicality of playing or just remembering song structure. And there's the other guys and the nuances of how they're playing, which can add to or distract. But this also inspires new ideas and creative process. It's awesome when everybody's "in", hehe
Cool stuff.
