Favourite quotes from films.....
by fifi40 ini love this quote and often find myself using it on the kids and my dog.
it is from cats and dogs and james earl jones doing the voice over.
"not for you young puppy, for you the war is over".

- Congregation: Gosh, we're all really impressed down here, I can tell You.
- Chaplain: Forgive us, O Lord, for this, our dreadful toadying, and…

- Congregation: Fantastic!
- Chaplain: Amen.

I played prehistoric video games. What does that mean?
How 'bout Gyruss, Galaxian, Galaga and Gorf. Never mind the rest of the alphabet,....
Napolean Dynamite was more than just a movie to me, 'cept I can't dance like that, lmao.
For anyone interested in reminiscing their nerdy past, I suggest the highly downloadable MAME32 (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) which allows you to run the original code from thousands of arcade games. Some of which may be available on the net.

If tomorrow never comes, any regrets??
by avidbiblereader inif tomorrow never comes, do you have any unsettled regrets, anything you wish you would have done, any places to see or things to do, anybody you wanted to say something to and didn't?.

No regrets.
I'm here because of the choices I made and accept the results of same. And it's been a slice.

How long do you think they will be able to sustain this "the end is really really nigh" schtick?
Now that they are supposedly okay with post-secondary education (or so I've heard), how do you think that might impact their grip on the "sheep"?Well, they've gained a bit of ground in the last century and I think that they will still be around 100 years from now. There will always be people who choose or are born into beliefs and christianity in general is not going away. The diversity of the denominations shows it's "adaptability" and popularity, for various reasons. And there will always be fringe or radical elements to any belief system and most would consider the org rather extreme. Seems to me that radical elements in a system are naturally occuring and are a catalyst for change but don't tend to last. Every major belief system has 'em.
Enter the org, assimilating without prejudice,......muahahaha
I would guess that if the org is to survive, it will have to ease up on it's harsher stances and policies. The internet has it's impact and the long term effects will extend exponentially, access to information and education will figure in positively, word gets around. If the org doesn't chill out, it will likely suffer a significant drop in membership and coalesce into a harder boiled version of itself. One of it's major tenets is getting old pretty quick and some radical new light will be needed to illuminate the darkness for the blind. As for the armageddon thing, that ones' a good card but the ace will be a joker if the new light doesn't take. Whatever future those guys down at the mothership in Brooklyn are crafting, I'm sure they are doing their very best for their best interests. As are we.
Good questions, though. Many futures are possible. Every choice has it's impact, grasshopper,......

Facing reality about getting older
by JH inas jw's we weren't supposed to get that old and fall sick, all depending on how old we were when we joined.. but time is passing by and we are getting older, and sicker and uglier....lol.
was it hard for you to accept that you will one day die, after being told that paradise is just around the corner?.

It kinda inspired me to do as much as I could, today. Give 100%, work hard, play hard. Eat, drink and be merry. Go to where I want to be. Enjoy the ride,...:-)
As for paradise, didn't really believe in it anymore by that point. The thing about corners is there's always another one until you get back where you started. It then seemed pointless and illogical. LOL

Maybe I don't want to live in Paradise
by pratt1 inwhen i was a teenager, and really trying hard to be a "super witness" i remember thinking that if all the wicked people were destroyed, how would this change our everyday life.. what happends to the people that supply electricity, water, garbage collection, gas, fuel for cars, mechanics, farmers, cattle herders, etc.... how would we survive?
if armafoggeten happened in the winter would those in colder climates die?.
i you were on some sort of medical equipment that required electricity, would you die if there is no one a run to work in the electrical plant?.

Do you have any "Phobias"
by JH inmaybe you're afraid of rats, or afraid to walk under a ladder or go in your basement for some reason .

LOL! Yeah, you might want to take the theoretical approach to this one...
LMAO. Yea, you're right; sounds silly actually considering the subject
Still, I don't plan on going exploring in caves or considering a career in mining though :-)
I used to have really bad calsutrophobia, i havent been in an enclosed space for a long time (i got stuck, and left in a suitcase as a child and that started that phobia big time - i was playing, no one put me inside it)
In a word, I suppose this would define the fear. I had a similar experience as a young kid where I was locked in a trash container by some "hoods". I remember the fear being more intense when I was young. I don't have a particular problem with crawlspaces and the like now so I guess it's not so bad,.....;-)

Cool shot of the bus,...:-)
You know, a nite skyline shot with the water in the foreground would be cool. Tripod or something to set on would be necessary
Zooming out on a short exposure shot can have interesting fx 2
Just saying what I see.
Have fun
