WT Secret Document admits that only Elders and MS's are Ordained

the watchtower society likes to tell its members that all jws are ordained ministers, but in reality only elders and ministerial servants can obtain a certificate of ordained minister from the watchtower society.

even then one must specifically state the reason the certificate is needed.

bottom line, the watchtower society makes it very difficult for any jw to receive such a certificate.. branch organization manual.

Morning all,
I didn't know they had a document, but as far back as 1984 we knew oniy elders and ministriel servents were the only ones who could preform marriages, because only they were considered ordained by the state.
But I agree the WTS gives the impression that all witnesses are ordained, think about it though, if you can't perform one of the most common services provided by a minister (Marrying people) then what are you? your not a real minister. At least not in the sence that most people consider a minister.

Fluff- Why?

"Legally binding" baptism?

i've done a bit of reading, and now find that i have a question about baptism.. recently, a poster wrote something about j/w baptism being legally binding.

when i read this, i took it in the literal sense; that somehow if one were baptised, and at a later date chose to walk away, or d/a themselves, that the org could somehow "come after" them.

my question is...does this ever really happen?

Three Questions.... measure your healing.

time is a great healer, so i believe those who can state many years out, will also state a high rate of healing has occured for them.how many years have you been out of the organization?on a scale of 1-10, ten being completely free of the pain, one being raw and still hurting with intensity, how much healing have you accomplished since leaving?related to number 2 - how much of your mind have you recaptured?

how often do your decisions still bring watchtower theology into play when making them?.

a verse constantly plucked from context by witnesses is john 10:16. they use it to prove that there are two classes of christian.. and i have other sheep i have other sheep, which are not of this fold: those also i must bring and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.. the this fold say witnesses are anointed christians and the other sheep are christians with an earthly hope.. read the text carefully and in context, and i challenge anyone to be able to prove that.. in chapter 9 jesus heals a man born blind.

this infuriates the pharisees who then attack the healed man and threaten him with being expelled from the synagogue.

the man will not recant and is thrown out.. jesus finds him and asks him to be his follower.

It looks to me that Jesus was talking to the Jews first, then referring to everyone else second,and that all have the oppertunity to be of the anointed.

One flock... Jesus came first, to gather the lost sheep of Israel, and show the "Way" to salvation, and then the "Way" of salvation
was brought to the other sheep...making them one flock.

Corinthians 1:21 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,

Who are the us, and who are the you.

Hello skyman,

So, I'm wondering who to believe, Paul or Jesus, one says one thing and the other says something else.

I agree that the bible is corrupted, so it would seem we really don't know what Jesus taught, and if that's the case all of
the churches professing to be christian don't have a clue as to what the truth really is.

Any thoughts?
