this obviously is my first post, i actually feel like i may be sick but i felt compelled to post.

only if to just say hello.. my life has been anything but boring, pioneered for years, brought several family members into "the truth", and find myself unable to have studies anylonger because i feel unsure about the stand i have taken all these years.. i was previously married, my husband left the organization for various reason, we divorced and i recently remarried another brother, he is a wonderful man and husband, i care for him deeply we and had been friends for 15 years.

i also have a son from my first marriage who is 4, he is the love of my life, recently my son had an opertion that could require a blook transfusion and to be honest i could never deny him that.

For all the bashing that is done about JW's

I would say most bashing is not directed towards The individual JW, but towards the Org. WTBTS

And its quite understandible concerning what many have gone through with the WTS.

From what I've read here I would say the majority of posters have deep respect for one another.

Except UncleBruce and Gumby, don't talk to them...LOL...

Latest WT study article - preparation for upcoming new light?

    .

the latest wt study article seemed like an article to prep the masses for 'new light' to be revealed in the very near future.. i have never seen an article like this one where they summarized their 'flashes of light' in their history in this manner and bombarded the minds with the need to accept all and any change within the org.. it could be for the purpose of getting the rank and file to accept a pretty big change or a series of big changes very soon.. what do you think?

what do you think it'll be?.

    Hello all,

Was the 1914 generation revealed at a convention?

I don't remember when, but some time around there.

In our cong. I think the new light kinda went over people's heads, and then we realize what this new light meant, we probably wont see the new system in our life time......uuugh.

LORD... How long must we suffer...going door to door...Crap, gives us a break already...Thank you Lord, Amen...

did it seem to you that a lot of congregations had more than the usual sick people in them when compared with their worldly neighbors?.

could it be a common problem among jw's?.

do you think it may be mold?.

This is a common problem in the USA, and I'm sure elsewhere too, But nobody was physically ill only mentally.
(stress, which can lead to physical sickness)
It was their minds trying to tell them this ain't right, they just couldn't put 2 n 2 together and figure out it's all Bull shyte.

We had one sister who used her son to get out of comming to meetings, it seemed he always had a fever or something on meeting nite , but any other time he was fine. (He was the healtheist sick kid I ever saw)

How Were You Affected By Elder/Ministerial Servants/Pioneer Appointments?

    by minimus in
    1. jw
    2. friends

were you ever affected by seeing a man or even a teenager being made a ministerial servant or a young man being appointed an elder-----knowing that the person is not really qualified?

you could be thinking, "i can't believe he gets to be an elder when my husband (or brother or father or friend) is doing everything but headstands for the elders!

" when such appointments were made did you see to it that you would not go to that person for direction or counsel?

    Good morning All,

Never became a MS, of Elder, but the elders at least twice a year would incourage me to work toward that goal, they would tell me that they are considering making me a MS, my answer was always no thank you, I have a wife and three kids who are my first priority.

But I saw many who became servents when they shouldn't have , and their families suffered for it.

What I noticed was that the ones who had families, most of their kids left the Org. or were constantly in trouble for one thing or another.

Those poor Bro's weren't able to take care of their families the way they should have, because the time spent taking care WT Business
took away from the time they should have spent with their families, making sure they were taken care of spiritaully.
It just seemed all screwed-up too me.

I was never affected personally by any appointments, but there were diffinately those who weren't qualified for the responsiblity or privalage (if that's what you want to call it)

has anyone here got to the stage where they just dont care about the wts anymore?

whether they exist or disband, whether its about doctrine and dogma, attitudes, flip-flops, what they think of you, scandles etc.

would this be the end goal of recovering from the jws?

    Hey Ballistic,

In England we say "couldn't care less" i.e. if you could 'care less', then logically you do care for them.

Never thought of it like that, but your right, If I could careless, that must mean then, that I must have cared more...Hmmm

And that's true at one time I did care more for them, (The Org.) but now I could careless.

"Joined-As-Adult" JW's: What need did the WT fulfill for you?

were you able to fulfill or remove that need in some way?

did fulfilling that need make it possible or easier for you to exit the wt?

    Hi CYP,
    you said:

So you were able to fulfill those needs outside the org?

    In short, yes.

When I joined the Org. I was searching for truth, (spiritual truth) and the Org. fulfilled that need to a point.
I wasn't raised in the Org. so when I met JW's at my door they seemed like good people (and the majority are, they just have their eyes closed)

Anyway, as time went on, like most of us here I started learning the truth about the WT, I started having doutbs so I did research and eventually left the Org.

I've since come to realize Truth, Happiness, Love, and all the things that make you happy start first on the inside of each of us.
I learned that if you don't take care of your own house first, it's a lot more difficult to help others with their's

I realized happiness and Truth doesn't come from a book, church, KH, or anywhere, but from inside, each, and everyone of us

    Hope that answered your question?

I do care for the honest hearted ones who are still there, and those who might join.

As far as the Org. is concerned I could careless for them.

I'm here to help, and be helped.
I think we all have something to offer each other, as far as help and understanding are concerned.

And I believe this site has been very benificial for many of us here.

So everybody, keep up the Great work!
