I was sitting and thinking of what to write in a DA letter, as I've been inspired in a way by a letter I read today. And one thought I am putting in, is that I have a clean, clear conscience because I believe a loving and understanding God would know that I choose this path due to honest and sincere feelings about the organization. And I believe a loving God would not destroy a person based on that. But the then I thought of a scripture that has been used to show that even sincere will ones will be destroyed. Matt 4:21-23 " 21 Not everyone saying to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness." To me that just does not make sense that God would kill people that truly believe they are doing the right thing. I believe that scripture is meant to show that people using God?s name for dishonest reasons would see adverse judgment. Any idea's out there?

Watchtower miscalculation -again
by observer ini'm not sure if this has been presented here before, but this is link to some ewatchmanlike site .
http://www.jehovahsjudgment.com/essay_danielsdays_5.html.
it comments watchtower's current teaching about daniel's "2625 days" and it's miscalculation when it claims that the 2625 days lasted from "january 25 1919 to may 1926".

What I like is how they pick and choose when to apply the day for a year rule......I'm waiting for the new last days....starting in.......Jan. 4544
(1919 + 2625) but I may not be around............

Do you see real people here at JWD?
by jeanniebeanz inwhen people post to jwd, do you make an effort to understand "who" they are and take an interest in their wellbeing, or are they just 'ghosts in a machine' there to entertain you?
do the people here fall somewhere in-between for you?
do you think it matters?

TheGoodGirl is getting hooked, but some addictions are good. But your post is what I was talking about, more apt to talk about "private" matters when you're comfortable. Plus many here have gone through the same thing and are willing to share and give advice as to what they have gone through. For that, I for one am grateful.

What are some Bible contradictions that JWs can't reconcile?
by marked ini remember reading in the reasoning book about how to approach someone at the door who said the bible was full of contradictions.
one of the answers was "many say the bible's full of contradictions but no one's been able to show me an example of one.".
so, what are some examples that jws would have no real canned answer to?.

The easiest contradiction is no particular verse, but the over all theme of free will. The puts a wrench in everything, did Pharaoh, Judas, or Cyrus (if the prophecy really was told before it happened), did any of them have a choice or free will? That theme has been showing up a lot on this board, but very appropriate.

more weird reasoning
by zaphod ina young brother was df'd for having sex with a young single mother with a young daughter who was studying with the congregation.. she got pregnant and they married.
she suffered with mental illness.. the brother sexually abused the young girl.
he was reproved but not disfellowshipped even though he did not go to the police voluntarily and at first denied the abuse.

I definitely see real people here, almost more so then people I see everyday. What I mean is with the comfortable feeling of sittin' home or where ever we use our computers, we tend to be comfortable enough to open up more. For some it's easier to type out real feelings rather then say them. Personally, I've formed many real friendships here and very strong support system.

Crumpet, welcome to biology 101
OK....red blood cells make up about 50% of blood and 95% of a RBC is hemoglobin, really a substitute derived from hemoglobin is still pretty much, hemoglobin. Interferons are a substance produced WBC's to do battle mostly with viruses. Interleukins are made from other WBC's to direct immunity responses.
Albumin, globulins, clotting factors are fractions that if you and water and salt, you have plasma. And platelets only function, pretty much, is in dealing with wounds and bleeding.
So with out boring you......add all these fractions you pretty much have whole blood with out some are compounds, iron, sugars, ect...

Here is a list of blood products that are "a matter of conscience" :
1.Red Blood Cell fraction-Hemoglobin based substitutes
2. White blood Cell fractions-interferons, interleukins
3. Plasma fraction-albumin, globulins, clotting factors
4. Platelet fractions- wound healing factor
This is a far cry from the former?absolutely no blood products. "New Light" or caving in to a form of political pressure?

"I prayed for you"
by Scully inif you aren't a "believer", does it bother you when someone says "i'll pray for you" or "i prayed for you"?.
one of my colleagues is an incredibly kind and sweet person, and i know she says it because she believes she's doing something good on my behalf.
i always say "thank you for thinking of me", because i know that's the spirit she's intending to convey and that she cares about the situation i'm in vis-a-vis my jw relatives, but she knows i no longer believe in god (at least not in the sense that she does) - i wonder does she think that a few prayers are going to change my mind?

Scully, sorry you feel that way........I'll pray for you!!
