I used to dream that I saw two elders staring at me over the garden fence and once I dreamt that they and their wives were standing on the corner across the street from my house watching as my hubby and I entertained some relatives. Then I realized I wasn't dreaming and they were really doing that. My husband gave them the [bird] and that was pretty much the end of my "dreams". Not long after, I dreamt the one elder was DF'd for adultery with another brother's wife, and it came true...imagine that??? Dee

weirdest dream
by Es inhey all, just posting this again as i cant seem to find it.
i had the weirdest dream the other night i was goin to the memorial(which i did not attend in reality) and there was an elder there from my old cong who recently passed away in real life a couple of months ago.
his ghost was standing at the door and only i could see him, he followed me around the whole kingdom hall.

Is there a slowdown in congregation get togethers?
by truthseeker ini was just reading thelisteners post from an earlier thread, and it got me thinking just how little time dubs have to associate togther.. it seems to be more and more the fact, that the only time dubs see each other to "associate" - if you can even call it that - is at meetings and conventions.. even at conventions though, the dubs are told not to go outside for lunch, regardless of whether it is a nice day of not.
(note, this may not be true at all conventions).
where is a jehovah's witness supposed to get this period of refreshment so he can do more?

That's a good one Mary my friend! "I can't imagine Jesus tobogganing..." I can imagine who you made that comment too, and I would've paid a plug nickel to watch the look on his face as you said that to him, hahahaha. I remember the very last cong. party we ever went too, [we were still in good standing at the time ] we pulled into the park, we could hear everyone laughing and talking. We parked the car, and as we walked towards them, they stopped dead in their tracks. You could hear the crickets. I looked behind me to see if perhaps Satan de Debbil had snuck in with us, NOPE. My brother took us under his wing, got my hubby to help him BBQ, while I chased after my two little ones. Needless to say, we ate and left. And that's when I decided, along with hubby, that this was a farce. Talk about your Cliques!!!

What initially attracted you to your spouse?

His smile.....he has these sparkly-gold eyes that made me absolutely crazy for him....that, and the fact that he was NOT a JW!!!!!!!! yes, I got into trouble over it, but I didn't give a royal hoot. It was well worth it, and nobody thought we'd last, including my mother.......14 years and 3 kids later....Hmmmmm.

Did you ever see a TRULY happy JW?
by cyborgVision ini mean seriously, most of us have been inside for a number of years.
so during all this time did you ever see happy person or a family or were you ever truly happy there, even for a brief period of time?
if you were happy, when was it?

Excellent question! After pondering a few minutes, I can say that there were some happy JW's, but they were the elderly ones. Have you ever sat in a van full of elder's wives, and MS's wives and listened to them drone on about their stingy husbands and gossip about sister-down-in-the-dumps who could really use their help, but alas, they were much too busy to offer their time. And i would sit back and watch them all kiss up to each other and if the CO happened to be visiting, look out for the stampede to get his and his mate's attention. And I too am surprised at how many within the org. are on meds, it's sad really. I'm so glad that I am no longer under the influence of the borg.

welcome Quentin, I am new as well. I've notheard of the WBTS asking for their books back either. In my mind, we had to pay for the literature, however long ago, so they have no right to ask for them back. Perhaps they are going to recycle them? I can understand maybe they want the really old books, they're quite interesting, after all. My husband has suggested that we box all ours up and deposit them on the doorstep at the KH, or one of the elder's homes. It's either that, or he wants to have a book-burning BBQ sometime soon.

hi everyone, i'm new. my friend mary told me about this site. she told me how much she enjoyed it, so i've finally taken the baptismal plunge, and here i am. now mary can count this as a bible study. ha ha ha i am looking forward to meeting new friends here. i started to do the fade 8 years ago, when i became disgusted with the hypocrisy within the congregation. i enjoy the pagan holidays too much to continue going, although not DFed or DA'd , we are treated as such, by the holier than thou christians at the hall.my parents and one brother are still believer's while the rest of my family have ceased going. have a good night all, i look forward to meeting everyone soon.
