In considering bone marrow transplants and peripheral blood stem cell autografts in this case, the local committee sought further advice from Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States but decided, in the end, that the use of these techniques was up to the conscience of the individual concerned.and my best friend died 25 years ago because she needed a bone marrow transplant and was told she could not accept it???!!!!! This just pisses me off to no end!

Wost parents in the world - but humanity steps in and restores some faith
by Bumble Bee inthis poor kid, watch his face when he thinks he got the xbox and then watch is face when he realizes it's a joke.
kids don't understand 'you know we can't afford ....", he truly thought he was getting his wish.
i'd like to smack some sense into these parents - what they did was just wrong!

I could hardly watch that video. That child was SO upset...I've never seen that kind of disappointment on a child's face. That cut right to the heart of that boy!
What kind of a parent goes to the trouble of acquiring an x-box BOX, just to put clothes in to fool a child?
And who the hell was that person laughing in the background?? They need a good kick in the slats, and then some! How cruel.
I hope the child gets an x-box 360, with all the accessories and a ton of games!!

A little bit of this...a little bit of that.....
by coffee_black ina friend of mine sent me the following... gave me a laugh...and a few surprises.
in the 1400's a law was set forth in england that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb.
hence we have 'the rule of thumb' .

Old Tobacco Barns
by Undecided inwhere i live in nc near va there are so many old barns left from the days of tobacco growing.
when i was a child almost all the country people raised tobacco to make a living and would cure the tobacco in these barns.
out on the old country roads there are barns everywhere.

My grandparents grew tobacco for many years. My dad grew up on the farm. However soon after I was born, the farm was sold, and my grandparents bought a restaurant and motel.
I've often said, I'd like to purchase on old kiln, and refurbish it into a little cottage or art studio. There are still a few of the old ones left, here and there....the new kilns are ugly.

I've just become a father
by jwfacts ini have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful step kids, 15 and 21. being a jw i did not want a child as life seemed so pointless.
things changed for the better since leaving and i am now the proud father of a big baby boy zac - 9pounds (4.1kg), 52cm long and huge lungs.
my wife is filipino so the baby looks very asian at the moment.
