I've gotten a lot of pressure lately to get baptised, and it's annoying as hell. Occasionally 'helpful' brothers will take me aside and ask me about my spiritual goals and tell me how baptism is so important. At a recent talk, the most 'helpful' of these brothers was giving a talk about how all the young people in our congregation should be getting baptised and said, looking at me, that the Elders "urging you to work toward baptism is not 'pressure', it's encouragement, and while the congregation would never force you to get baptised, you can't use the excuse that you don't want to be pressured into it." I was seething.
O I've some stories about that 'helpful' ministerial servant. What a douche.

Kids under the age of 18 who get baptized...
by WTFBBQPWNT inshould be allowed to revisit their decision and either revoke or keep their baptism.
this is too major of a decision to be placed in the hands of minors.
the mental anguish that can result from it is something that kids should be protected against.. how would one even start the process of getting this passed as a law?

Hacking into their Watchtower Library CD-Rom? Can I please wave the Bad Idea Flag around? I mean, likely they'll realise something is wrong, and most old people think that computers are magical boxes that can do anything. (My mom thinks people can watch me through the monitor! OMG HACKERS!!/1) Likely if they see something that looks funny, they'll blame you immediately. And how hard is it to go to their hard copies of the literature and see if the text matches up?

How up are you on the music and musical artist, hot today?
by free2beme inas i get older, i understand more the generation gap we always remembered being mentioned with our parents.
i always thought i was on top of the music scene, as i used to run a music and video store in the late 80's.
i thought it kept me on a path, that would keep me in the know of what was hot and what was not.

Hey, why do you keep mentioning sixteen-year-olds? Haha, I know next to nothing about what they play on MTV anymore either. Yesterday my mom and I were flipping through the channels and happened to come across MTV actually playing a music video. We were stunned, to say the least, and my mom kept asking me who the band was. I, of course, had no idea.
"Uhm... is it the guy from Green Day?"
"No Apathy, even I know that!"
"Maybe it's the guy from My Chemical Romance? But... he was more anorexic looking and had a funny accent."
Turned out to be some band called Thirty Seconds to Mars. (Which made me feel rather like an old woman.) Oh well, I'd rather listen to David Bowie or T. Rex or something, anyways. -

Because part of having faith in something, is the possibility that it might not be true. Anyone can believe something that's solid, that's been proven. How many people will believe something that supposedly happened two thousand years before they were born?
At least, that's my theory on the thing. -

'Lo darlings. I'm sixteen-years-old, and raised in 'The Truth'. I've been here before, but I stopped visiting for about a year because some people were quite insistant that there was OMG NO WAY I could ever be fifteen (at the time). Which got old rather quickly, as there are only so many times I can say "Yuh-huh I am totally fifteen," while other people say "Nuh-uh, you are like an old man or something trying to tempt me with hot underaged wimmens."
Or something like that. Whatever. I am fond of paraphrasing.
ANYWAYS. Hello you lot, I'm bored.
Also: Didn't there used to be a chat? -
