Cause they are demon cookies....
There was a couple of urban myth Jo Ho stories floating around when I was a teenager that boxes of cookies were possessed by demunz.
But I think their main reason for it is like not going to the YMCA....it supports an Unchristian goal....*I mean Un-Witnessess goal*. Course this begs the question why the WTS was an NGO with the United Nations. -

Bible Study Burns Down the House...
by Sparkplug insomeone just mentioned 1978 and it reminded me that a bible study of my mothers burnt our house down while we were gone to the international convention in california.
she robbed us blind and then toasted our house.

What good bible wisdoms do you know?
by Bas ini'm not much of a bible expert myself so i was wondering what good bible/jesus wisdoms do you know?
things that can help you in daily life by keeping them in the back of your mind.
also i'm not looking for cliche's that everyone knows regardless if they ever opened the bible, more like philosophical wisdoms that even atheists should know.

i got the impression she thought they were "evil" or something.
are jws taught that cell phones, pagers, etc.

Um, maybe if those assemblies or ministry was interesting you wouldn't have people spending time txt'ing each other.

We haven't found a good reason to kick you out for cell phone use yet, but God only knows you use the cell phone to make time for "hook ups" to engage in "pornia" or "beastiality"....darn kids! -

i am new here and have been for some time now trying to find a jw who is a jw, not someone who was.
i am trying to find out the core beliefs of the jw organization, where do they stand on i guess salvation, heaven, hell, judgement, what happens after you die, jesus christ, the cross, etc.

I think you must balance the beliefs yourself. We NON or EX Jo Ho's will tell you what we found to be lacking with the religion. What we thought were inconsistencies. What we thought was bunk.
You should not dismiss our thoughts but rather use them when evaluation what you learn. Listen to your gut as to what makes sense and to what is right. It will probably lead you in the right direction. But make sure you are fully informed. This would be like charging into the car dealer to buy that new car without reading any reviews on the car, finding out invoice price on the vehicle, etc...
An informed consumer is a happy one. So examine all things and do not be afraid to make the Witnesses or Ex Witnesses use the bible to prove their point :)
