Yeah, thanks I think I'll pass on these snoozers. If you look at my threads nowhere in them do I say "HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS". Most of all of those came from the pages of New York Times Newspaper. Usually they are 2 internet pages long. I post the 3 or 4 highlight paragraphs out of them to start a discussion with. Hmmm, you think I'd quote from the largest circulation newspaper if I was trying to steal credit from them? You don't think those same stories were picked up by AP/UPI and posted to dozens of other newspapers? You think people actually thought I sat around with my thumb up my butt picking this stuff out of the air? Puleeze! (And the HIV thread wasn't mine and the posts in there are footnoted for your viewing pleasure my dear.)
But maybe I'll just stick to comments like you make so as not to run afoul of your literary genius.
***Hey, fellow Dallasites. I'm sorry we can't come see Badger off. If we get a chance, we might do a pop-in, but we've got family in from out of town that we've already made plans with. Elsewhere, your smoked stuff sounds fabulous! Badger, take care of yourself, hon. We'll miss your sweet mug.
***Happy Anniversary!!
***I'm so glad you're in a position to be picky about what job you take. I firmly believe that it will pay off in the end! Chin up - it'll happen.
***((((((Tres)))))))) Congratulations! I'm so happy for you...now you can take your time to get the job of your dreams. Yay!
***Haha! I love your sense of humor Sith!
So quit being obsequious in your "caring" posts. I find your fake sensitivity borish. I come to JWD.com to discuss & debate items of the day and relax. If I wanted to hang around self important idiots I'd stay at work.
But Scully asked me to provide quoted links earlier today and I said I would in the future no problem.

Aluminum Chlorhydrate Cause of Breast Cancer?
by zagor ini wanted to post another topic but this morning my girlfriend got this email that frightened a hell out her.
a friend of hers from europe says that she visited this breast cancer symposium; there she asked one of speakers why it is that most of cancers start underneath arms around armpit area.
speaker later cautiously replied in private that it was because of aluminum chlorhydrate which is frequently found in anti-perspirants for women.

Kinesiology - what is the current stand? (Any elders?)
by ithinkisee ini don't feel like pretending i have genuine concern to go to a local elder and ask ... so i ask you .... what is the deal with kinesiology as far as jws?
the 94 wt where they talk about it sounds generally like the answer is no.
everything i read about the origins are traced back to some chiropractor who supposedly had occult origins ... .

Good job!!!!
I've found this to usually be the case when my friends have had to endure the "unemployment trap". I think it's policy to tell everyone NO the first go around as many will be disheartened and not appeal. -

Jim I am painfully aware of what goes on in a ER ward. However, you point to a valid problem. Have you ever found out how many of those "patients" in the ER are uninsured? In many big cities the unisured rate in the ER approaches 50%. They flood the ER because they didn't want to go to the family doctor sooner...thus it then becomes severe. You are living in Texas...in 2003 (and I believe it still holds true) had the highest percentage of uninsured IN THE COUNTRY at 30.7% of all adults and 26.6% of working adults. ER's and ambulatory services are a safety net and often the place of first resort for health care for America's poor, uninsured, and illegal immigrants. (There is an interesting study done for the state of Texas I've listed at the bottom if you are interested.)
Jim let me ask you this....Could the business you work in survive if 35% to 50% of your customers didn't pay you for your services?!? ER's cannont turn away people who can't pay. Could your business survive if you were mandated to do this? I think not.
FYI: Nationwide the wait time to see a doctor was unchanged since 2000, averaging 46.5 minutes. Overall, visitors spent an average of 3.2 hours in the ER.

Daniel's Prophecy, 605 BCE or 624 BCE?
by Little Bo Peep inhello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.
i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.
i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

Skully and I were discussing "cutting and pasting" on another thread. I did not find the information you cited at Yahoo. As I pointed out on the other thread with 2 mins of searching the same verbiage is found on 5 unique sites. All without source info. So who do you quote as the "cited" source? I use a Macintosh, and JWD is not user friendly this way. JWD doesn't recognize "clickable" links from Mac's....hence the short "cut and paste". Since "consumption" as such is not listed in medical reference materials, it is listed as TB. As the original question was a rather simplistic question, it calls for a simple answer. If she/he had asked for a list of issues regarding it, obviously that paragraph wouldn't have been appropriate.
As you learned in the KH, remember your audience when giving a speech. If I posted a long drawn out highly clinical post, then I get accused of being a pontificating, know-it-all, wind bag. Post a simple, short, ancedotal paragraph and get accused of being a fraud.
Your post **They really are a bunch of rabid, money hungry dogs. I'm so glad I got out of it.**
Perhaps you are jaded and embittered by the medical community. What is your axe to grind? Call it a hunch...but I think you are not a fan of the modern medical profession. Care to defend yourself?
The FDA gets lampooned on all sides. Certain patients are screaming for experimental drugs to get approved. The drug companies have billions of $$$ riding on an approval. Yet when a COX2 drug creates health problems politicos and consumers scream bloody murder. It's a tough balancing act. Are their bad apples in the bunch. Sure. But 95% of the folks are trying to do their jobs while keeping in mind that the patient's well being is the end all be all. To suggest otherwise is crazy. -

Why is chalk white?
by Qcmbr ini was reading some pro flood info and i came across an intriguing point regarding chalk - the fact that it is composed almost entirely of shells.
now i have no desire to start a pro flood blah blah debate.
this is a sincere non religious question for our marine biologists / geologists - why is chalk white and not layered with silt and sand?

IMHO what I posted was a "small amount". But I will try to do a better job adding a snippet of source info. JWD is not Macintosh friendly so therefore I cannot post clickable links...hence the simple text drag overs.

Good god no I am not that smart folks!!!! Scully & Jeffro both of you quoted 2 sources. I got my "cut and paste" from a 3rd source you didn't mention. That's part of the problem...you don't know who to credit for the source....any time there is a study or a statistic I will provide the source. In this case it's more of an "explanation" and found many similar if not the same information on many websites so am never sure who to credit since none of those websites cites an authority. Especially if I cut and paste from two or three sources.
If it's medical I will either A. give my opinion or B. quote medical resources with references.
When Q'bert asked about chalk I was curious myself, looked it up, and posted my findings. Scully, should I be doing anything differently?
Edited: I did some more research on various university and professional sites and found a few comments:
***No definitive guidelines exist for citing electronic sources. Many groups are discussing the issue and are producing guidelines for review.
***Much of the text on the Internet was originally published elsewhere, so you may have access to the original source in the library. Citing the primary source is an option. Use signed articles whenever possible since not every source on the Internet is reliable. Quoting an unsigned article is risky. *****NOTE QUOTING UNSIGNED ARTICLE IS RISKY"****
***The usual authorities, which include professional associations such as the Modern Language Association and the American Psychological Association, are still debating specific standards for scholars in their disciplines. The Chicago Manual of Style, among other reference books, simply refers readers to an international standards organization, which is still struggling to reach agreement on new guidelines after five years of painstaking debate.
***An Internet version of the print source may not include the pictures, graphs, or the advertising included on the print version pages. In some cases the online source may be more authoritative or current than the print version. Also, how the material is transcribed, if it's scanned, if it is modified in any way, or if it is created only in an "Online" version is difficult to determine for electronic sources. So HOW the document is ACCESSED is an important part of citing electronic sources. It determines a certain credibility about the source.
***Many Internet sites will not provide you with the basic information for a citation. You should consult with your professor or a librarian to decide whether you want to use a source if it can not be cited adequately.
So my understanding has always been that unless the author or researcher is KNOWN and QUOTED you do not need to list the "source" if you will. Just as we all know that seat belts save lives....pulling a "cut and paste" COMMENTARY on such does not need to be noted unless the author is known. If a study or thesis is presented then of course YOU MUST list the information. The internet is a wily, rapidly changing place. The rules I lived by in school may no longer be the most up to date etiquette of the web. So if I'm not on the same page as most of you I would like to hear your views.
Respectfully,

Can you refute these?
by Mary Phooty in1. are jesus and michael the archangel really the same person?.
one of the most peculiar of the wtss teachings is their assertion that jesus is actually michael the archangel.
" in acts 10:19-20, this "impersonal force" considers himself to be a person.

*****I don't have to know the depths of your heart if you wear it on your sleeve. that's all I'm saying.
Ah...how easy for you. YOU aren't judging, you are "just calling them as you see them"? You know what we call this kind of person? A BIGOT.
****As well. I have "preached against the WBTS and the entity behind it. You could see that if you would look.
Ah, and we haven't "preached against the WBTS"....so you get a free pass for your clergy work?!? The almighty Michelle has suffered so much therefore you get a free pass? NOT.
****I, personally, must tell you these things about my Savior. I'm sorry if you don't like it.
Ah, see now it's back to YOU DO NO WRONG, it is US that have the problem. Typical Fundy blinded by their own hypocrisy.
*****Don't get me wrong, I'm not feeling sorry for myself, but so far(almost 1 year) anything I have said seems to get the response...yeh, whatever...
I looked at your first dozen or so posts.....here's a few fun posts from you......
****FYI I am presently being a willful child but I am ever mindful of the fact that my Father has set the direction. His will is being done through me not by my.
****He that is not on my side is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters.--Matthew 12:30
****Anyone that is not promoting kingdom interests(belief in The Heavenly Father) does not gather God's children, he scatters them.
****If I could be God for a day I would come back.
****De 7:8-9 The commandment refered to is found in De 6:4-5
****god-thingy - TRUE GOD
not knowing - all-knowing
not necessarily all good - All Good
maybe just is things - TRUE GOD
Think about what you are saying. Make a choice. Your life depends on it.
From perusing your first few dozen posts I am calling bullshite on your "I tried to be real for a year but no one was interested". See Jesus took a REAL interest in people. He wanted to know what THEY THOUGHT and FELT. He didn't pontificate AT his pupils....he taught his pupils by understanding them and their background.
So either GET REAL with us or stopping blasting the board with stupid scripture. I would prefer and honest "I feel this way about ________________" any day of the week versus what you post. You act as if you are above us HEATHENS and you are trying to deperately save our souls and ACT like you really care, when in fact you seem to only care about appearances and looking down your nose at us "non-belivers".
If you HONESTLY feel this way about your lord savior...... you think you'd be more interested in RESULTS rather than sitting on your arse, posting crap on the computer to folks who don't like being preached at.
