  Well I think 1914 is the central tenant....so to supposition that it is based on inaccurate info using the bible and other historical docs would challenge his beliefs. Most Dub's have no idea about 607 not being 100% true and widely accepted. My dad who has been an elder for 30+ years had NO IDEA that secular historians ALL disagreed.

  hi everyone just had another situation wanted to know your all opnion on how to deal with this one.

  here goes..... i got a dozen roses with ballons the other day at work and it had type written on the card " to someone special ?

  "that was on friday.... i called my x and ask others if they sent them to me and everyone said no......including my co workers then tuesday when i went to work, the florist brought me another dozen roses with a teddy bear and said he forgot to bring me the teddy bear on friday so he had a dozen roses a teddy bear and ballons again and the card read " thinking of you".... again didnt know who sent it... i talk to a co worker who is trying to make the moves on me and he said " do you want me to tell you the truth?

  Well the whole 1919 thing is predicated on the 1914 thing. And for 1914 to be true 607 needs to be true, which IT IS NOT! Jerusalem fell in 586/587. Not 607. So 1919 isn't a valid argument. Tell him to go to the libraray and look up the historical accounts from various encyclopedias. Then come back and talk.

  Should dubs be hanging out in casinos?

  mom and i went to have a bite to eat at one of her favorite restaurants which is in a casino.

  lo and behold as we were leaving in walks 5 of her dub friends who were going to eat at the same place.

  she was talking and talking and i got tired of standing there being ignored so i walked away and started playing the slots which was well in their eye site.

  I have seen these types of behaviors in many Witnoids. Unfortunately I had to struggle to overcome some of these same tendencies myself. I think if I didn't escape being a Dub as early as I did that I would have been permanently scarred and quite likely been a sociopath myself. It took me about 10 years to overcome most of these bad traits. Very sad.

  Pot....I spent some time in Reno....the witnoids there all ate at the cheap $ 3.99 buffets all you can eat. I didn't quite understand how this could be ok? They told me that the casinos "LOST" money in the resturants and only offered them as an enticement to get people to gamble. Therefore as long as they weren't making money they could not use the Witnoids money to further their cause?!? WTF!
  
  So I guess if you could figure out what a "membership" really costs the YMCA and pay $ .01 less than that....then it would be ok ?!?

  Why are pigs "unclean" and what does "unclean" mean?

  there are several religions that teach that pork is an "unclean" meat and therefore should be avoided.. what, exactly, does "unclean" mean?

  when i think of "unclean" i think of something contaminated by dirt or dangerous bacteria.

  is there some other "spiritual" substance in pigs that cannot be detected?.

  Talesin...remember back "in the day" sanitation for human waste was also a bit suspect. Hence shellfish posed an even greater risk than it does today. Not just red tide, but E coli and other very common bacterial contamination if human / animal waste gets into the local water.
  
  Why does any religion pick and choose? Wearing a shirt made of two threads....that's ok. Shellfish is ok. Pork.....bad? Homosexuality? Bad? Leviticus was a book of clean rules.
  
  Can you imagine asking all women who are in their "time of the month" to walk around the city yelling out "Unclean.....unclean" like the bible commanded? LOL

  i have no particular order of study, just random as i think of it.

  important to this examination of fearful assumptions is the input of your views, and/or the official jw thought on the topic particulars - anyway, here goes
