  A comment I heard tonight

  tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

  the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

  through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

  Wearing a shirt made of two threads? Aka, cotton / poly blend... you should be stoned.
  
  Anyone who wants to say that the Old Testament is in any way, shape, or form a guideline for today is just plain insane and deserving of the punishments the OT dishes out.
  
  You MUST,,,, ABSOULTELY MUST take the bible in it's historical context or you are deluding yourself and are a nut.

  i live in the country on a hill and i know in the country there are lots of birds but for 3 days now there have been a group of turkey buzzards flying over my house non stop.

  as far as i know there is nothing dead in my yard but they constantly circle and circle around my house and getting close to the windows.

  now i shower everyday so it can't be that i smell,,,,,,,,could it?.

  Advantages to being a JW

  i'd say that the biggest advantage of being a jw is that you learn the bible.

  growing up a jw (never baptized), i had many friends (mostly catholic) who didn't even know where most books of the bible were even located.

  jws really do learn and study the bible and this knowledge becomes very helpful once you start looking at the bible more objectively and not with wts binders.

  What are you even doing here on this site? If you told your elders you were posting positive comments on an "apostate" site they would counsel you and warn you if you ever did it again you would be disfellowshipped.
  
  You seem to think we are all bitter people unable to move on with our lives. Ponder this.....
  
  I left the "borg" over 15 years ago. I did the slow fade and moved across the nation just to get away from the JW's. Who calls me to bother me about some judicial matter from 17 years ago?!? The borg! Who can't move on with their lives?
  
  When I left I just knew it wasn't for me and wanted to be left alone. No bitterness. Just not for me. With my parents and siblings in "the truth" I bit my tongue for 15 years not saying what I really wanted to because I thought to myself "Hey just cause it ain't for me, why spoil it for them if they need that as part of their life?"
  
  Well last October my parents hit me with a "We don't agree with your lifestyle, neither does Jehovah, and you need to read this new tract from the borg". I told them 3 times to stop their interegation or I would lose my temper. They persisted and I lost my cool.
  
  By them not leaving me alone, and quoting scripture at me last fall is what drove me to this site, to read Crisis of Cons., and other "so-called apostate" things. My parents have a problem with my lifestyle but don't seem to have a problem driving the car I bought them for their 40 th wedding anniversary. Also, don't seem to have a problem with using the computer I bought them for their 41st wedding anniversary.....
  
  After reading Crisis it made me realize what I had always known. Not only were they the silly, kooky, out of touch organization I always thought them to be, but rather cold, calculating, EVIL and DISPICIBLE as human beings that deserve whatever they get when they pass on.

  he said that if we take time to argue or disagree with someone at the door then our guardian angel is already waiting at the next door with out us.

  basically what this does is train us to flee from anything that may conflict with what we are trying to teach or anything that we may believe.

  I've had people avoid me until they can't any longer. Than they seek me out for help. I am a surgeon... so they like to ignore me when they can but when they really need an experienced doctor they coming running. It's pathetic, and funny at the same time.
