  i can't believe johnny the bethelite has not been uncovered.

  unless, of course, he doesn't exist!

  This is ludicrous, seven pages....kool-aid, or rick, whatever his name is, has weaseled on every question put to him. It's all circular, because in the end the same old suggestion is made; "Go click on Six Screens"...that is pushed ad naseum. He doesn't have to do any spamming, you do it for him.

  What's this guy done on a seven page thread, dropped in five, or six times and said six screens, six screens, six screens....give it up folks, it's a dead duck.

  Tell you what would be hilarious, find this guy is Trevor come back to haunt us. That would be something , eh? Seven pages of FREE advertizing...

  Suggestion: Create an "Empowering JWs" Forum

  before everyone gets the wrong idea about creating an "empowering jws" forum, this forum would be for serious campaigners to exchange ideas about helping jws by either influencing the wtbts to change or planting seeds of doubt in jws, and would not be for promoting the wtbts nor its policies.. since jwn threads have gotten so numerous and effectively using jwn's search engine is a mystery to me, i believe that creating a forum for posting ideas to awaken jws would benefit both jws and exjws, who want to do more than debate religion and relate how they were abused by the wtbts/jws, and who want to help awaken loved ones.

  i feel that the forum should be named "empowering jws" to paraphrase steven hassan's book "releasing the bonds: empowering people to think for themselves" and because i do not want to alienate jws with doubts be calling it something derogatory that may raise a jw's persecution phobias.. also, jwn might appear more welcoming to jws, if there was a recommendation that posters refrain from labeling jws jdubs, borg, witlesses, etc.

  i know that many members of this forum were hurt by the policies of the wtbts and that some jws were jerks to them, but that does not mean that all jws are jerks.. peace be with you and everyone, who you love,.

  The wtbts is the land of the brain dead, where some become big fish in a little pond. Are there good, nice folks in the wt, of course, however they park their brain at the door, like I did for twenty-six years, and will follow the rules, no matter how screwy the ever changing rules become.

  For every two lurkers that turn away due to the language used by some posters, three will take their place and become ex-jw's, given time. Simply because they get to bring their brain with them, not leave them at home.

  Good off the cuff history lesson. Isn't it interesting though that most religious movements were born in blood?

  Martyrdom of the leader, long dangerous pilgrimages from point A to point B. Airest of the leader/leaders, well, you get the point. However, that's not were it really starts. You have to go back in time to find the pivotal point that sets the stage for the jump start of the new, bold way to relate with Deity.

  Like I said above a well done history lesson. Pithy too.

  I agree with Terry....you must look at or listen to both sides of an issue. If you don't do that your not circumspect in out look and fall victim to being a POLLY PARROT regurgitating the vitriol of either the right or left.

  Can you be a JW in good standing and NOT go door to door?

  the 2nd president of the watchtower bible and tract society, j.f.rutherford was criticised by some elders in the (then) independant congregations for urging members to go door to door while neglecting to do so himself.

  rutherford responded:.

  frequently some elder says: the president of the society does not go from house to house selling books.

  Only time I was ever consoled about hours was the year I attempted to "Full Time Pioneer". Just couldn't crank out the 100 hrs required.

  Conducted some "Watchtower Studies" and weekly "Book Studies", lead the "2nd Ministry School" in the library. Seems I was in good standing somewhere in the pecking order. Only thing I was never assigned was the "Public Talk", you and Johnny were. Even my Dad, [who had to wait 10 yrs after being re-instated before he was allowed to give the number one talk in "Ministry School"], got to give"Public Talks".

  Appears to me, a persons good standing was based more on what the powers to be thought of you, than the number of hours spent banging doors. Feel this to be so because I was never consistent with putting in the required 10 hours.

  Brother tells Elders "fermented Coke" made him get a drink driving charge???? LOL!!

  yes a brother was interrigated by the s.s elders in a local ethnic cong.

  for getting arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol....to save his privleges he says that he had no alcohol at all, but did drink from an old bottle of coke which must have "fermented" into alcohol in his stomach...... maybe one of the best bullcrap stories i ever heard.....we need more honest elders like him in jehovahs "clean organisation..
