Christianity has NEVER been homogeneous. It has ALWAYS been fractured. From the founding of the primitive Church....the days of Peter, James, Paul, Timothy...to the great schism of Eastern Orthodox and Western Catholic, Coptic, Ebionites, Martin Luther, on and on. Fractured, splintered all being based on INTERPRETATION of whatever self contained holy script was at hand, and accepted as such.

Do you ever just start CRYING for apparently no reason?
by Terry ini spoke to a friend of mine about this not too long ago.. we are "of a certain age".. the subject came up somehow.. .
i'll be watching a tv commercial or i'll see some people in a park or a simple passing thought will suddenly induce a profound.
sense of---well, how to describe it?

I'll be 63 in March...when I got into my late 50s I would tear up, or cry about a lot of things. As we grow older we truly begin to understand there are many things we cannot control, nor do anything about. When we were young, we were full of piss and vinegar. Now we are older and have more respect and reference for live. No shame in crying, tears show we are human.
By the way folks, if I have my arithmetic correct, Terry is 65, has never spent time in hospital, except to visit other's. In fact, I think he told me once he was born at home, could be thinking of someone else. As my granddaughter says I'm an "Old Fart, that can't remember what time I got up, let alone what day of the week it is", ain't kids a delight?......
One more thing, about an hour ago Terry went in surgery for one of four root canals he needs done. Now if that don't make you cry, don't know what would....

What are your core values? Are you willing to die for them?
by MC RubberMallet inif you believe or don't, what do you value most?
and are you willing to die for those values?.

No, it would be foolish to die for somthing as abstract as core values. What I hold dear today may change tomorrow.
What I would die for is my family.

Ain't life grand? There's one thing about this thread. The display of unconditional love. No matter how long, or short a post was, that tone of unconditional love jumped from the page. Sincere as well, not false nor forced, nor done because some rag of a magazine tells you to put on a happy face. Makes me proud to be a member of this board.
Rabbit my friend, feel bad I didn't think to contact you in regards to Terry. Same goes to you James Woods and Sooner7. We all live in the same area. I have no excuse for over looking you guys.

Terry ate a plate of food; pancakes, prunes, forgot what else, washed down with two cups of coffee. With his cousin took a walk around the hospital. His voice sounded much, much better, even from yesterday. He is on the mend.....

Thank you Talesin and thank you CoCo....If I could manage it, I'd be like Rover. By the way, this is the first time in his life Terry has been the patient in a hospital and not the visitor.
Terry will remain in hospital. The bacterial infection has been contained. He will now be tested for, as he says, "exotic viruses".

Is anyone nearby going to visit if that's allowed?
Yes, Terry has family and several friends that have called him, or gone to see him. I drove over today and visited for about three hours.

Will pass along your well wishes. Terry is not one who wants a fuss made over him, but I think that is a facade, your responses will cheer him up, of that I have no doubts.
