Jaguar...I have read both Ray Franz's books, excellent stuff! I have also read Animal Farm and the similarities are eerie...but your other suggestions sound interesting.

ok, i'm writing this thru tears as i just found out in the last 5 minutes.
my dad died in august, and they had been together just 1 or 2 weeks over 70 years married!
i didn't expect her to last without him, and visa versa.. i just tried to call my sister, and no answer there.
Oh, God. Oh, I'm so sorry. This is horrible...I suspect I will receive the same treatment.

You know, I have to say, yes. I did think I wouldn't be a Witness. I mean, I technically still am, but I always envisioned myself going inactive, not preaching. When I was younger I wanted to be a missionary, but as I got older and more and more was expected of me, I started to dread preaching. I knew I didn't want to go door to door anymore...and I mentally planned my escape. I figured I'd marry a "weak" brother who was open to doing fun things, and he'd be my reason for becoming inactive.
Didn't exactly happen that way, but I'm out nonetheless!

It's been quite a while since I last posted. I thought I would update everyone on my progress. This year has been better than last. I'm finally somewhat stable. I've been at my current job for 10 months, and I've lived in my apartment since July. After having moved 9 times in the past 2 years, it's nice to finally be stable! Even so, I've experienced a lot of ups and downs, especially relationship wise. It's been so hard for me to shake my Witness mentality. I was always concerned with what people thought of me, and wanting to make people happy that I sacrificed my own happiness. I still do that, except now that I'm in "the real world" people take me for granted all the time. I feel like I've been chewed up and spit out.
The good thing is that I'm seeing a psychologist and hopefully I can get to the bottom of my issues.
If anyone has any advice, it will as always be greatly appreciated. It's nice to just let it out!

since having no access to the internet, i no longer can keep up with all that's going on, from the inside-out.
I absolutely remember you...I remember we tried to get together before I moved from PA. I'll never forget how supportive you were through my difficult time, and now that you are going through something, I keep you in my thoughts and prayers. my jw father recently passed away, and when hedid i thought it would be kind to contact all his email contacts to inform them what happened.
since i knew many of these people, i included my email address.
after the intial few rerturn emails with condolences, i have continued to get emails from the one person.
I met a girl at a convention a few years back, and she put me on her email list. I still get these ridiculous emails on all these fantastic experiences.
I have half a mind to tell her, "I'm an apostate, please stop sending me your crap!"
its richie again.. i was thinking last night about my inevitable, fast approaching exit from the wtbts.
i guess that out of common courtesy, i will provide a copy of my disassociation letter to my mother, however, it is nothing more than a baptism nullification / gag order / i'll sue all of you letter.
its not one of those lengthy numbers that some have chosen to write.

You've always been a cool cat! Now I don't know your mom, but I believe she will read what you say, even if it hurts her. It may be different since your dad isn't a Witness and I assume you two will still have a good relationship. It might be weird for her to be on the outside looking in at that so she might not shun you like other parents do. Bottom line, she needs to know you're an adult and capable of making your own choices, and this letter will definitely show her that. Great idea.
i wasn't quite sure where to put this post.. i believe i'm being sabotaged at work--either that or i am going crazy.
i left for lunch about 2 hours ago.
there was a pile of work on my desk.
I'm fairly certain, now, that it was her, it got put back on my desk "mysteriously", out of thin air. Hmm...and she never said a word about it.
It's not just this event, it's other events that make me believe this could be a possiblity. I'm not overly nice to her, I say good morning and just try to be generally polite. I don't carry on conversations, however, with ANYONE at work--that's just me. I'm there to do my job and that's it.
She's worked here way longer than me, I just got here and she's been here for years. My boss did mention to me that she felt I didn't like her for some reason, and did she say something to upset me? I do think my boss is fair though, because it was mentioned that she can be moody, and I just have to take her as she comes.
I think you're right in that I have to give her few opportunities to sabotage me, and everytime I step away for an extended break I will lock my work up in my desk!
