I don't think I would've been active, but I would've still believed that they were right and that they definitely had the truth. So I would've lived my whole life under a cloud of guilt. Not that I don't still feel some nagging doubts sometimes, but the more and more I come here and to other sites, the stronger I feel.

Tomorrow at noon I'm getting my hair done. After that I am staying in the entire weekend, sleeping and eating, save for an hour to get my exercise.
Looking forward to being completely lazy!

So why is it so easy to believe that there are elves - fiction?
So hard to believe there is a Creator of the universe? Because you cannot see Him. You can feel can't you?
It sounds to me like you are the one with many questions and no answers.

When I was little, I got hit above the eye with a horseshoe. It was a plastic horseshoe, but I don't know what was in it, magnets, sand, but it was heavy. My eye immediately was closed shut, and I had a black eye. Of course no one believed me when I told them what happened...everyone assumed I'd been in a fight.

It was a cop out to tell you what to do when there wasn't clear biblical proof one way or the other.
Ooh. EF, I had never thought about it that way. Good point. That one hit me over the head like a ton of bricks. I always was sensitive to that too. Like that skirt I had, I got rid of it, even though I didn't want to, because I didn't want anyone to "fall out of the truth" because of something I was being selfish about. But you're right. If people are following the Bible it shouldn't matter what someone else does, they should know what's right and wrong no matter what!

How Many Of You "Bumped" Your Field Service Hours?
by EvilForce inhow many of you bumped up your field service hours so you could keep the elders off your back?
our congo had a 10 hour "soft" target for guys.
however, if you didn't meet the 10 hours you got your "privledges" reduced or revoked.

Good story Jared! Yes, I "bumped" big time. I was a pioneer, and getting those hours in was hard so I lied all the time. Toward the end they began to catch on. One brother told me, "Umm...I lost your hours. I need you to turn in your hours for the past 6 months." I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Ouch! I don't have that problem, I'm flat as a pancake. But my most embarrassing injury was about a year ago. I sleep most comfortably on the floor so I was on the floor but lying almost underneath my bed. I woke up startled in the middle of the night thinking I had overslept, and hit my head really hard on the sharp metal edge of the bed. I was dazed, like, "Owwww." But then I went right back to sleep. When I woke up, I had a gash above my eye and there was blood all over the pillow. The worst part was explaining how it happened. One lady said, "Were you drunk?" I wish I had been, then I would've had an excuse!

it's okay chia, it's just the elder's wives who were stumbled. the brothers, i am sure, were up-lifted by your kind thoughtfulness!
And do you want to know what else? There was an elder's wife who wore shorter skirts than me. So I asked him why no one had talked to her? He said, "Well, there's no one looking at her!"
Oh...I see. So I guess they were uplifted by my thoughtfulness. Never mind. I didn't stumble anyone. I was doing my part to be encouraging!

My family got talked to because some were "stumbled" that the house wasn't tidy enough for the book study. I also got talked to because I had a skirt that was on the short side. Ridiculous.
