For me it was the Live Forever book that I remember the most since it took a long time to get through it as a study as it was longer than the blue Truth book. I also remember the blue United in Worship book as back in the 80s you would study in that book after the Live Forever book and it was also gone over at the book study.

Does Bethel have a library? Is it open to you?
by Fatfreek inlet's say you're a jw, you're curious about some quote you found on the internet -- some newer book slyly changes mention of a date prediction from 1874 to 1914 -- and you'd like to see the original pages of those books.
are any of these publications available to: .
1. anyone from off the street .

I had been to Bethel twice back in the mid 90s and went to one of the libraries. I can't remember right now which building it was in; more than likely it was in the main corporate building and nothing was off limits that I know of. Even one of my friends from my hometown congregation was a bethelite there at the time showed me older original copies of the Watchtower and other publications.

The WTS says it is scriptural to honor your mother and your father; but if your mother or father finds out the WTS is full of crap and decide leave the organization the WTS condones the shunning of the parents.

Watchtower condones murder - but make sure you disfellowship for smoking!
by AK - Jeff ini unintentionally hijacked the wanderer's thread regarding a witness mindset - so i post this here to leave his thread on topic.. http://www.silentlambs.org/education/92_murder_letter.cfm.
.
i know that this in not news to most here - but to some newer 'faders' or 'lurkers' it might be.. jeff .

I wonder how they would react if there was evidence later found that would trace the crime back to the criminal the BOE was harbouring. There is no statue of limitations for murder and if the person was indicted, charged, tried and convicted of the crime and it was found out that the WTS knew all along that this individual actually committed the crime, it would be interesting how they would spin that situation.

Should I get an iPod? What do you use yours for?
by Elsewhere inlet me start by saying that i am not a music fan.
i hardly ever listen to music and almost never buy cd's and my car's stereo is almost always set to npr or some other news station.
i don't even have a stereo system at home... simply because i would never use it.. however, i've been hearing more and more about the ipod devices.

yes, the ipod has an equalizer inside the system and you can set the volume limit on it also; I was surprised the volume power it has

I got the ipod nano and I really enjoy it for listening to music and storing contact info, notes and stuff in addition to listening to music. I like the fact that the accessories you just about endless. I got another mp3 player I got a couple of years ago; the Gmini that is 20GB in size and I thought I would just store all my music there and I did use it for exercising but I didn't have extras that the ipods have and the sound wasnt as loud as I like however I prefer the nano for what I use it for; it's smaller, no removable parts and wont crash like hard-drive mp3 players do since it run on flash memory and the control wheel design is much easier to use. I do need to get used to using itunes though. Even if you dont listen to music a lot there are so many other things you can do with an ipod; it's just deciding on if you want a regular one or the nano.

I got mine early December and loved the hardbound copy of A Wrinkle In Time. I had lost my paperback and so glad I have this to add to my book collection. I wasn't sure on who it was from and the return address of Alabama threw me off and then a card in the mail also threw me off (Niagra Falls) until I opened up the card. Thanks so much Mr. and Mrs. Kwin and family and have a wonderul holiday season!! With much love LRG

A tribute to Moose
by cruzanheart inour basset hound moose died this morning.
he was only 2 1/2 years old but he had addison's disease.
something caused internal bleeding and he went very quickly, which was merciful.

I am so sorry to hear about Moose!! My heart goes out to you guys at this time! It's so sad losing a pet as I found out years ago having different cats, you may get another pet but they will never replace the ones you had previously.
