She had been written up for poor job performance more than one time. I was very specific in telling her what I expected of her. Where I work, you just can't fire someone for a couple of infractions like being late; you go through a serious of verbal, written and final warnings for that. On a final warning on production, you get put on a month work improvement plan and that didn't help.
Some of the other employees were resentful at how slow she was and her doing all kinds of nonessential stuff that didn't matter as far as reaching the work objective goal. You do have to present a lot of documentation and send it to HR and then have them review it. I had about 19 pages of documentation on her. What she would do is come in late enough times to get wrote up, wait a few months until it drops off accumulatively and then start over again. They called back and said they didn't have to read all of it and that I had enough to get rid of her. I really thought she could be able to adapt and finally catch on but she didn't. I really think she has some psychological problems.
When I hired her last year she was the only applicant with any experience whatsoever. I didnt even get any applicants fresh out of school wanting hands-on experience! Medical transcriptionists are so hard to find.
