I had never heard of this band from North Carolina until I was in Germany and heard this song which apparently was a bigger hit and they had more success in europe than here in their native country in the US.

Quit or Get Fired?
by SixofNine ini have a good friend who is probably going to be moving out of state within six months or so.
her problem is that she doesn't think she can endure six months in her current work environment.
it's a huge international corporation, with really nasty, stupid, ineffective middle management, and she has zero political or managerial power there.

Human Resources for the company I work for told the managers where I work (me being one) to direct all inquires on former employees to the HR department and not to give references except for verifying dates. It is hard to do background checks on prospective employees and I dont think the HR department where I work check out anything judging by some of the people I have ended up with.

CORMAC MCCARTHY may well be my favorite writer
by Terry in) never read fiction.. personal reasons.
i use to read a lot of fiction as a teenager, but, gave it up.
i had enough to do rearing 7 kids and having to indulge in life to make the trade-off of time required to keep up with fiction.. now, there has come an author who has stopped me dead in my tracks and changed all that and his name is cormac mccarthy.. he is some kind of genius with quirky style and a bottomless vocabulary and a penchant for storytelling that won't let me escape.. i first heard of mccarthy by reading the literary critic, harold bloom.

Thanks for the info Terry. I will check him out. I want to see No Country For Old Men and want to read The Road but Im not going to purchase any new books for a while. I ordered a Kindle from Amazon and eager to try it out when it comes in. I hate wanting a book and the bookstores here not having it and having to order it from Amazon and wait for it to come in.
