Read Captains and the Kings by Taylor Caldwell. Published over 50 years ago it is very spot on with what is going on today. Has a good list of older books listed in the back of the book for further research into the movers and shakers of the geopolitical power structure of the past 100 years.

i used to have a large-ish novel collection but my current collection is scaled-down because i was forced to move back to bolton 4 years ago and didn't have enough room for them all in my suitcases.. i currently own just 9 novels.. salem's lot (stephen king).

I have read a lot of Taylor Caldwell books but Captains and the Kings is one of my favorites. She never wrote a bad book. She was very prolific back in the day but today most everybody under 50 has never heard of her. Check her out if you like historical novels.
