i've been thinking a lot about this, watching the news, noticing the problems in communication during interviews.

i have a friend who is a muslim and we try to explain to each other our cultural and religious differences.

there is a language barrier in addition to the aforementioned challenges, but we are still friends who respect and care about each other.. i also have an acupuncturist whose wife is a jw and he gets as frustrated trying to reason with her as i do with my mom.

Merry I like the fact that you are trying to understand people and that is a very good thing to do. You and I and most here need to understand how people think and then remember how their reaction is primal. Like your past posts you are struggling to understand your mom. I am trying to understand my mom. The acupuncturist is trying to understand his wife. We need to be do this so we don't start to hate them. Hate destroys good. The cartoons started what was all ready in minds of the people that is their primal instincts to survive when they are threatened. The Muslim world feels threatened and so when an animal that is threatened it reacts violently.

he brought some of his old thinking into the new religion and used some of the symbolism to give credence to the new religion so other people that where masons at that time might take a peek at what his new religion was about.

I read everything both of them post and I am missing their point. Could they be correct? Why do so many slam them instead of debating their ideas?

I do see that the Illuminati would like to rule the world but I am not convinced they are able to do so. There are to many people today that know the Society exists and think they are Satanist these people are also in powerful positions which balance the power away from the Illuminati. It is a very powerful boy's club that looks after their members and because of this they do influence the world but to what degree? I have a hard time seeing the proof but it might be like when I was leave the JW's I could see they were wrong but could not make the jump. I grew up with a State Senator that is a very powerful man, he is not a Mason nor an Illuminati at least he was not before he was elected. He fights these guy's and says they will never achieve there goals. He is fighting hard against the One World Government.

Is it not better to be educated than paranoid or worse yet totally ignorant not knowing what groups like these are trying to do. Yes I believe they are after a One World Government but might that not be a good thing?

Russel was a Mason that I have know doubt about. He brought some of his old thinking into the new religion and used some of the symbolism to give credence to the new religion so other people that where Masons at that time might take a peek at what his new Religion was about. I believe there it is nothing more than that. He used Mason symbols to persuade other Masons.

What do you think? Do you believe the JW's are a secret plot by the Masons perpetrated on Society to further the Masons agenda?

i'm reading a book and this morning i got to a part where it claimed that the life of jesus was very similar, if no downright copied on ancient pagan myths of different men-gods.

(amongst them osiris, dionysos, attis, adonis, bacchus and mithra.).

Interestingly I was eating lunch the other day when this subject was brought up. The man had just read a book that a friend of mine loaned him and he wanted me to read it. He said mythological Gods had done everything in mythology that the LORD did in real life. I had to laugh inside the man was in his own way making the first huge leap towards the truth about Jesus but was not quite there yet. I asked him how could Jesus life mimic other Gods if Jesus himself was not also a figment of mythology? He said his mind has been opened and he needed to digest it a little longer. We agreed to loan each other a few books to read. Funny thing a month ago he said and I quote There is noway I could ever beleieve Jesus did not do what the bible says.

I am amazed that this thread is being left alone by the apologists. I have read several books concerning this topic and I am totally shocked to have found this information. we need to be opened minded, most Christians fall under the term skepticism which is a mask for the ignorant, we need to be skeptical which means to know the topic we are skeptical about, we need to study with an open mind always willing to be wrong. The first time I heard this wild crazy theory I laughed and then tried to prove it wrong. When I emerged from the fog of disbelief only one conclusion could be reached that is the conclusion of a mass distortion of truth, which started as early as the first century AD has been waged with the great severity. Over half of the world under its control. The myth of Jesus Christ. Look at the fanaticism we see in the world perpetrated by the religious elite all of this has been a real shock to me. Never will I be blind again.

does the watchtower society's rules and regulations promote healthy spiritual attitudes or do they have the opposite result?.

the reason i ask is because it seems as if many jw's i know are leading dual lives.. one life around jw friends and family and another hidden life when they are in places and situations where other jw's don't see them.

There is another double life that is when you are around other JW's that are on the same wave length they can party hard and not get caught. This happens all the time.

the thread about the matorian fragment has reminded me that i need to study with an open mind and not post on a thread with a concussion already established i got lucky today because i almost did just that on the thread matorian fragment.

we need to be opened minded, remember skepticism is a mask for the ignorant, we need to be skeptical which means to know topic we are skeptical about, we need to study with an open mind always and be willing to be wrong.

i see so many here on this board that hide behind skepticism without knowledge and that is true ignorance.

While I am venting I also want to say this about the hardcore bible thumps out there among us. Before you slam someone with your skepticism showing true ignorance look at the facts first and base your comments on the true facts because people that have truly look at the evidence are the only ones that have a right to be skeptics. I laugh when people say that is what the bible says "that all I need". I can just see in my minds eye a two year old with his fingers in his ears rocking back and forth saying out loud LA, LA, LA, so he can't hear anything but his own voice. Remember GOD is true and if science proves the bible wrong about something then it has to be wrong because GOD is truth, but the alternate is to great for many people. That is all right for them I guess but it is truly sad. I wonder if the rioters that are burning buildings and murdering people all because of some cartoon really know how stupid they are, many people here in the West are just as stupid. Lets not be one of the stupid followers just because we refuse to look at the evidence.

It has been posted many times but always nice to see again. I looked and found a JW listed that lives right down the road from me. I let this JW baby sit my kids for a weekend because I thought for sure the person was good and honest. Boy was I wrong thank God for the site.
