i thought long and hard before making this thread, that many will not agree with it but i think there needs to be balance and people to realise there are alternate viewpoints out there on many of these subjects, the ones that are most spoke about on this forum.

i was recently sent a full message containing mary's book and these links give the rebuttal to many of her points.

those that are still open-minded enough feel free to look over them even if in the end you still don't agree at least you have heard both the defence as well as the attack as they are on the internet.

I'm not going to get sucked into this Reniaa thread... this is the only thing I am wasting my time posting about on this thread... Aren't there other websites for people that believe in JWs to go to? I only come here to bash JWs... Reniaa must be really masochistic! Loves to get bashed!

And she has gotten smacked down pretty hard on every topic she has brought up.

russel may have had a fewrough edges to smooth in his beliefs, but KH are happily free of idolatry now can you say the same for other churches?

More than a few...but the point is this...on what basis would Jesus have chosen them in 1919 to handle his earthly affairs since they were, by your own admission, rotted in paganism...among the many other flaws quite obvious. Please don;t say Prov 4:18...Jehovah corrected them. They first had to pass the 1918 inspection, which they obviously did not.

Contrary to WT assertion CHristians do not do that with crosses. Not one's who know God. The WT basically does do that with lit produced by the WT though.

Nothing of what she psots reflects what she states in her bio. Nothing indicates a balanced view or open mind. It all points to an agenda of preaching WT doctrine. WHen cofronted with contrary proof she acts like a good lil WT drone and runs, avoids, changes the topic, gives indirect answers, accuses, throw red herrings....Her comments in the last few days really show she is much more than just a exJW thinking of returning but trying to keep an open mind. Some of the tell-tale signs are her using scripture in the same out of context fashion as the WT, her fear she displayed of 'apostate lit'..such as Mary's book...of course under the pretense of mary's book being boring. LOL She uses the same points to judge and evaluate as does the WT- always starting out with a WT assertion as truth and spinning off of that.

Here's another:

(Luke 21:32) And Jehovah, who is the source of inspired and unfailing prophecy, will bring about the fulfillment." --WT 5/15 1984 p6 (note, "[of 1914]" is in the original text)

That bracket game is amazing. SImply insert whatever they like and claim "we bracketed it to show it was our insertion" This makes adding to the word or God ok??

What would have happened in 1993 if a JW made the statement that the WT claim of 1914 generation is without basis and the brackets mean they inserted it? One guess of what would happen to this person.

It took me then to realise that I follow Jehovah not the Jw's but since they are precisely the only religion that follows Jehovah then I am choosing them,

They are precisely the only religion that follows Jehovah AS DEFINED BY THE WT.

Acts makes clear so many times over who we are to be witnesses of. Jesus. Read the book of Acts start to finish. It is very Jesus-intensive.

Should we try and prepare people for armegeddon, if prolonged disappointment will lead to them leaving the faith if it doesn't happen soon enough for their liking.?

We should help them to prepare their hearts to Jesus. The waiting game won't result in the numerous disappointments such as those of Wt followers if the person is serving Christ with his words in mind at Acts ch1 that it is not for you to know the times or seasons that the father has fixed. The WT certainly ignores htose words of Jesus.

Did the Creator promise a peaceful new world b4 the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away? Or did the WT pull this 1914 date out of their butt and make a false prophecy/prediction in the name of God? Case closed.

Irrelevant. We are not talking about other religions we are talking about this one in particular. The Wt stands or falls on its own merit NOT on the merit of others. If the WT is God's sole channel of communication it should stand out as a shining jewel among others...not be the same as others.
