OTWO, Didn't you know the WT is in utter fear of him? Members are leaving in droves, these demonstrations are working!! ACTIVE witnesses rush over to talk to RF after the memorial. Studies attending run over to RF and when they learn the truth about the truth from him they swear never to return. The WT is dead, it just hasn't fallen over yet. Six Screen is getting record numbers of hits by the day, new records being set daily. The conference calls are reaching so many on a global scale. Where would we be without it??

Christ Alone, Obviously what you have described is not what the WT is intending to happen...but in all likelihood it is. The WT is in no way promoting or suggesting the members witness via the internet...and certainly caution against using any site other than theirs to research them....but especially non-members would likely look at this official site..and at least one more...and the one more won't be a WT-sponsored site. As far as the smaller mags...less paper wasted, perhaps an image to the members (even if subconscious) that the magazines are nothing special at all. It does take a big step for a member to come here, or freeminds, etc.

Timing of "thinner magazines" announcement
by sir82 inthe announcement of the reduced number of pages in the watchtower & awake will be made after the watchtower study following the "special talk" on april 8.. theoretically, that's when there will be more visitors and "outsiders" than usual.
even the talk itself has 1/2 of its content directed at inactive jws.. obviously this reduction in pages has been in the works for several weeks if not months.
why pick that date to announce it?

While the WT letter states that the message will be able to reach more people via the internet, no where does this letter state explicitly or encourage in any way 'internet witnessing'. The only presentation of their message online is what the WT presents itself on their website. Door to door is not being phased out in any way. The letter says: Based on these changing conditions,
effective with the issues of January 2013, Awake! and the public edition of The Watchtower will be
reduced from 32 pages to 16 pages. These magazines that we distribute to the public will continue
to provide a rich supply of enlightening material to attract people to the truth of God’s Word.Obviously this means members will still be pushed to go door to door to distribute these reduced size magazines.

Agreed. But - aside from the small JW world (and some ex-JWs), who else in the real world would give a flying fart? Absolutely no one! In their own minds, the JWs are legends. Ex-JWs have an interest. Outside of that...no one cares.
