Question for the Ladies?
by avidbiblereader inwhat do you find physically sexy or hot on a man?
i need this info for my wife's sake, as she doesn't think 6 pack abs are that sexy.. .
abr.

Um...maybe you should ask your wife. Just because some other woman thinks washboard abs are sexy doesn't mean anything if your wife isn't turned on.
Why? Are you interested in acquiring "6-pack" abs and your wife is all "ho, hum" about it? If you already have said abs, post a picture.
edit: sorry, I didn't see your responses before I posted. Okay, here's my answer: Yes, 6-pack abs are sexy. But then, I like cuddly guys too, so I'm not really much help.

Prince - now a patry pooper
by stevenyc inhttp://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/494069p-416141c.html .
prince backed out of his party at ink in miami the sunday of the super bowl because the hot spot's dragon decor offends his religious beliefs.
the singer, a devout jehovah's witness, "sent someone for a walk-through of the space," co-owner laurent bourgade tells us.

Could you imagine that tiny, exquisite, little fairy man knocking on your door trying to sell you mags? Would he wear make up? What about his clothes? Would he provide the transportation (and the driver?) What a riot!
Juni, I love the idea of Prince throwing "theocratic" parties. I can see it now, playing Bible trivia, singing Kingdom Melodies, eating modest goodies, like popcorn, watermelon, cheese and crackers and sody pop, maybe a little line dancing. Yeah, that's realistic.

Zany Questions from Board Members to Wacky Terry

Men are like dogs; understand dogs and you understand men. Men like predictability, treats and a firm place in the order of things. It comes out as "control". Men don't want to reason with you; they want to be right. The "last word" is the dog peeing on a tree. He leaves his marker on the conversation as "his territory". Men don't want to know what is on televsion; they want to know "what ELSE" is on. The only reason a man gives a compliment is when he WANTS something and thinks a compliment will get it for him.
Well, there ya go, juni. Stock up on dog treats and get a choke chain.

The Day all Jehovah`s Witness`s are put into Concentration Camps!
by OUTLAW inwhen i was a kid, kingdom halls still had windows.thats a while ago..as a kid i was told in the last days, jehovah`s witness`s would be rounded up and be put into concentration camps..i was told, when the government came to take me away and seperate me from my parents,i should wear my warmest coat and boots.as i would have to fend for myself in the concentration camp..i was told never to give up my faith.even if they tied my parents to a stake and was foced to light the fire that would burn them alive.....jehovah`s witness`s are the "happiest people on earth!
".....do you have any happy memorys like mine?...outlaw

I don't know that I made a big issue of POSSIBLE DISGUSTING DETAILS OF THE TRIBULATION with my kids but I remember other "friends" who had an almost unhealthy fixation on it. One sis told me that she often imagined having to eat bugs and such to survive in prison. She was quite descriptive when explaining it to me. I wanted to go home and barf.
Maybe that's why she stopped bathing regularly several years later....more practice for concentration camp life in the great trib.

My Bethel experience
by new boy inbecause of the length of this, it will be done in two parts.
part 1. i when to bethel march 21,1970. at the time you had to be a pioneer for two years to apply, by the time i left in 1974 they were calling people in who had never pioneered..........average stay was 5 months ( they had signed up for 4 years)..........the reason they left was......well, it was hell.. one of the reasons was, knorr hated bethelites, but he loved the gilead students and why?
because when they screwed up they were thousands of miles away!........just before i got there, they had kicked out over 60!

In the first congo I attended, there was much excitement when the son of our PO was invited to join the Bethel family. Golly Gee, better than going to college or getting a great (part time) job or anything. Everyone was so proud of him. Well, he was there just a couple of years and, from what I understand, when he returned he was not the same person that everybody had so joyously sent off. He soon packed up and moved out west...and the rumour was that he had become inactive. I often wondered what had happened to change him at Bethel. These experiences from newboy, onacruse, Dogpatch and all of the other Bethel alumni have answered that question. I now can't believe he lasted as long as he did.

To a former family member...

heres my last communique.
we have reached the big december.

I wanted to suggest that you send it to your family...but...would they read it and understand? I don't know. I was blind for so long myself. I wonder if one of my sons had handed me a poem like this what I would have done. I fear I would have beat myself up for not studying with them enough and, instead of really looking at my JW religion and seeing how awful and hypocritical it was, tried to browbeat or guilt them into submission with more dub propaganda. Makes me feel sick now.

Ever hear an experience at an assembly that you KNOW was slanted?
by Bonnie_Clyde ini remember one at a district assembly.
a brother was being interviewed as to why he never chose over time work at his job.
he said he worked for a small printing company and that he was content with working regular hours.

It boggles the mind how I believed any of their lies. They distort things for the Watchtower, they distort things for the year books, they outright lie in most assembly "experiences". I think Jehovah's Witnesses, as individuals as well as as an organization, are the worst bunch of hypocritical liars I know of.
Back in my early innocent days as a new dub, I used to wonder how it was that I didn't know any people like the paragons of virtue, humility and integrity that were paraded before us at the assemblies. All the people I knew in my congregation were mere human beings who made all kinds of mistakes and had personality flaws...were we an especially crummy group of JWs? Wow. Depressing.
Well, the light finally dawned when a sis that I knew pretty well...from our apparently rotten congregation...got up on stage and told "her" story of selfless parenting and the brilliant organizational and budgeting skills she employed in order to auxillary pioneer as a single parent. What a whitewash job! Pretty funny really. What? Did they forget that we knew her? I guess so. Sounded good to the other congos though I guess. And the WTS decries people who belong to the terrible religions of Christendom, who are only looking to get their ears "tickled".
