You might be interested in both the latest annual reports of Watch Tower
Society of Britain (WTSB) and The Kingdom Hall Trust (TKHT), because WTSB has
been selling new kingdom halls to TKHT. TKHT now has funds of over a million
pounds, whereas it appears to have had none or very little before. WTSB has
also paid IBSA almost six million pounds to reimburse it for costs related to
the Chelmsford relocation project. Here is an extract from the latest WTSB
report compiled by a contributor to my website at watchtowerdocuments.org:
"[1] During the year, IBSA purchased literature from Watch Tower amounting
to £9,050,433 (2014: £8,820,956). [2] As an integral part of the charitable
activities of IBSA, it provided Watch Tower with serviced facilities to enable
Watch Tower to carry out its charitable activities. During the year, the
Association charged Watch Tower £6,606,420 (2014: £5,783,062) for these
services. [3] The Chelmsford relocation project that was initially started by
IBSA, was taken over by Watch Tower. Watch Tower reimbursed IBSA the value or
all costs to date on the project, which amounted to £5,769,588. [4] Watch Tower
charged IBSA £21,437 for the use of a warehouse. [5] Watch Tower charged lBSA
£27,045 for utility costs. [6] Other amounts due to Watch Tower for sundry
transactions amounted to £276,679. Other amounts due from Watch Tower amounted
to £108,617. [7] Watch Tower and IBSA agreed a restructuring of their
responsibilities, which is effective from September 1, 2015. This restructuring
has led to further related party transactions, listed below: [8] Watch Tower
formerly looked after the care of certain volunteers. IBSA has now assumed
their care. Watch Tower therefore paid IBSA all amounts owing to these
volunteers, a total of £519,276. [9] Fixed assets were transferred between
Watch Tower and IBSA. Assets with a net book value of £53,323 were sold by IBSA
to Watch Tower, and assets with a net book value of £255,959 were sold by Watch
Tower to IBSA. [10] At the year and, Watch Tower owed IBSA £l60,504 (2014: IBSA
owed Watch Tower £332,054) in respect of all transactions. [11] The charity
also has close connections with Kingdom Hall Trust ('KHT'), which owns Kingdom
Halls that are used as places of worship by Jehovah's witnesses, and which is a
registered charity with similar objects. This charity also has the same
registered office as that of Watch Tower. [12] During the year, KHT purchased
newly constructed Kingdom Halls from Watch Tower amounting to £1,864,997 (2014:
£Nil) The amount owing from KHT at year end was nil (2014: nil)." (Watch
Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain financial report for 2015, page 25)

Supreme Court tells Jehovah's Witness charity it cannot stop inquiry
12 August 2016 by Rebecca Cooney, Be the First to Comment
The court's ruling puts an end to attempts by the Watch Tower and Bible Tract Society of Great Britain to block an investigation into how it handles child abuse allegations
The Supreme Court has issued a final ruling telling the Watch Tower and Bible Tract Society of Great Britain that it cannot stop the Charity Commission from opening a statutory inquiry into the charity.
The Supreme Court represented the last chance for the Jehovah’s Witness charity to prevent the Charity Commission from investigating how it handles allegation of child abuse after the Court of Appeal also ruled in March that it could not appeal against the opening of an inquiry.
The commission opened a statutory inquiry in May 2014 to examine WTBTSB’s safeguarding measures after a congregation member and child abuse survivor alleged the charity had not done enough to protect her from her abuser, who was also a member of the church.
The Supreme Court ruling, handed down on 11 July, means WTBTSB cannot take its challenge any further within the British courts.
Chris Willis Pickup, head of litigation at the commission, welcomed the ruling. "Following two years of legal proceedings in five different courts and tribunals, the Supreme Court has finally brought Watch Tower’s challenge to our inquiry decision to an end," he said.
"In the two years since we opened our inquiry, we have received a number of statements and helpful evidence from variety of sources, but limited information from Watch Tower.

Attention nostalgic Brooklyn Dodgers fans!
The Jehovah's Witnesses are selling the former Brooklyn Heights hotel where the forever-missed baseball team stayed during home games.
The Watchtower has just announced it is putting The Towers, also known as 21 Clark St., up for sale.
The Dodgers, who in the 1950s infamously left Brooklyn for Elsewhere (to this day, some of us find this trauma hard to write about), used the hotel as their home base, so to speak.
The 313,768-square-foot, 16-story building is now a residence for the Jehovah's Witnesses — but not for much longer.
The religious organization is liquidating its once-massive Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO real-estate holdings because it is moving its headquarters to upstate Warwick, NY.

I have learned that Biggs was disfellowshipped although I don't know when. The information that I received that he was known by the elders to have molested before was not accurate.

Biggs used to live in Jupiter/Juno Beach, FL. A poster on reddit confirms that Biggs was a Witness and an elder as of 2009. Another poster said Biggs wife's name is Autumn Kay.

I sure would like to have more information about this case. It's especially interesting that he gave a talk at the convention at West Palm Beach last month. I heard from someone that Biggs was accused of molestation years ago but the elders did nothing. Is this accurate information?

Change is coming to Brooklyn Heights.
These two buildings, 50 and 58 Columbia Heights, are part of the just-sold Watchtower headquarters complex.
Watchtower workers are about to start moving out of their iconic headquarters, where their organization's name has been glowing in red-neon light for almost a half-century.
The Jehovah's Witnesses just sold their headquarters complex at 25-30 Columbia Heights for $340 million to a joint venture that includes a company headed by Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The buyers are a joint venture of Kushner Companies, CIM Group and LIVWRK.
A spokesman for the Watchtower told the Brooklyn Eagle that personnel at the Brooklyn Heights headquarters will start moving out of the complex in earnest in September. READ MORE

Brooklyn WT Building sells for $340 million usd

The photo of the headquarters of the Watch Tower in the article is the building I worked in for nearly eleven (11) years. If walls could talk, what stories they would tell!
I have a little story to tell about the first time I heard about that building I came to work in, known before the WT purchased it as one of the Squibb buildings. In 1959, going house-to-house in Palm Beach, Florida, I met a man who lived in a beautiful waterfront mansion. He told me he just came from a meeting with Nathan Knorr (he actually said, "I just came from a meeting with your boss") in Brooklyn, NY. He told me that the Watch Tower wanted to buy the two Squibb buildings. (He was one of the owners.) I called Joe Anderson at Bethel, who I was engaged to, telling him about the WT's negotiations to buy the Squibb buildings. Was that ever a surprise to him as not many Bethelites suspected that the WT was interested in purchasing those buildings.
Although the WT did not buy the buildings until ten years later, it was fun back then to know something about what was going on in the private business world of WT leaders. Little did I dream back in 1959 that I would end up in 1982 as a volunteer working at the building that became the WT headquarters when it was renovated in the 1970s.
I have so many memories from those years at Bethel and quite a number of things I learned about while working at 25 Columbia Heights, I'm happy to say, have helped many a JW out of the organization.
It was here that I learned all about the WT's hidden child abuse problems and I'm thankful to this day that it was possible for me to go public about this horrible mess some 14 years ago. Like I said, "If walls could talk, what stories they would tell."
