  lol - are you suggesting they ID'd everyone prior to ''helping'' them? Gosh! (My point was that they didn't do anything worth boasting about)

  JWs teach that the New Testament was written only for the s o called faithful & discreet slave.

  I heard this last week for the FIRST time - lol - I can't ever remember learning it when I WAS a (not very good) JW. Have they ALWAYS believed that?

  i think i might (if it is possible) be.......slightly...inclined toward foot fetishism....but only slightly.

  but, i find that i look at attractive feet and find them esthetically pleasing.

  and......slightly (only slightly) exciting.. i have no idea what this means.

  ljwtiamb - I can't see how the article can claim the WTBTS were ''helping'' - they just did what ANYONE else would (minus the 'press release') - that is, not turn away anyone who arrived there in tragic circumstances

  this is a song - a very touching one, i might add - about how a man is diagnosed with a terminal illness and how it changes his life for the better.

  this is the song that tim mcgraw wrote for his dad, former mlb player tug mcgraw.

  so why am i posting about this song on a discussion board about being jehovah's witnesses and leaving jehovah's witnesses?

  Welcome Lone Ranger - and well put.

  I have problems with this whole ''cult'' thing. I suppose as a young JW, OTHER religions were always singled out as being cults, whereas the Society worshipped Jehovah, and no man. It was Jehovah's Word, and not the teaching of any man.

  By this token, would Catholicism be classed as a cult, as the Pope enforces some rules?

  over the years jw have always strived after/prophesied (even though they deny this) a carrot ''date''.

  as dates come and go, we hear about ''new light'', but according to the wt :-a new view of truth never can contradict a former truth.

  OK, so we know from the prophet Fred's work that Adam was absolutely positutely created 6,000 years before 1975.. ...

  Add 30 years to 1975

  So even though NOTHING significant happened (or even something insignificant, you know, like Armageddon) in 1975, it is still a year to be 'noted'?

  So 2005 (1914+70+1 (no year zero) add the tribes of Israel, fiddle with all the numbers in Daniel and take away the first number you thought of ........etc) is to be ''significant'' too? Can I give up yet? Lol
