Well, I think my apartment is haunted.

yep, thats right, haunted.

i have never had a dwelling place with so many unexplained noise and goings on.

lights that have been turned off, magically turn back on and visa versa.

Only ever had one experience which I have previously posted on this board......

I have hesitated to type this - and it is something I have only shared with 3 people. I am not the sort of person that believes or looks for anything 'supernatural' and I never expect to experience anything of that nature.

Over 20 years ago I lived in a house with my young child. The house was about 100 years old. One night, I had just got into bed (I never drank and never took drugs) - it was a double bed and I always slept with my back toward the centre. Literally a minute after I got in (my child, aged 4, was asleep in the back bedroom), the other side of the bed was depressed violently as though someone heavy had thrown themselves onto it. And then I heard the most horrendous breathing. I have never been as terrified as I was then. I would have to have turned around to see what was behind me - but I froze. I was desperately trying to remain motionless. The breathing continued for maybe 20 minutes.

Another night I was awoken by an almighty crash - which I didn't really think anything of and drifted back to sleep. The next morning I discovered that the chest of drawers in my bedroom, which was about 4 feet tall, had been tipped over.

I sold that house 20 years ago - but I still dream about it often - and my dreams take me upstairs there. I am sometimes tempted to ask the present owners if they experience anything - but they may think me mad

the beaches in the outer hebrides make it one of the best places on the planet, in good weather.

unfortunately it isn't often we get a good spell.. how the heck am i going to survive dallas!!!

Outsourced Call Center Frustration

for the most part i have never had a problem with call centers based in india.

whenever there seemed to be an issue, i chalked it up to a communication issue.

today, however, is a different story.. i booked a trip on delta but my frequent flier account is with continental.

The ONLY reason I stayed with aol when I upgraded to Broadband was to keep my email address. I actually TOLD them my IP address yesterday, and where I found it. They said they didn't look for it there .....so after 10 minutes and another 5 quid no doubt, they obtained it from somewhere else on my PC, and guess what? It was the same as where I obtained it in 5 seconds. And they said it wasn't a real address and wouldn't recognise Broadband......well guess what again......? Here I am connected.......Broadband with an IP address that doesn't exist.

I wish I hadn't seen this thread. Right with you there Sad Emo. I spent TWO HOURS yesterday on the aol premium phone ''expert help-line'' (now THERE'S an oxymoron if ever there was one). I spoke to 6 or 7 different ''technical experts'' - transferred to ''level 2'' technicians FOUR times. Told several times I have no/faulty IP address and would never be able to connect. Told I can only use dial up. Told the opposite. Told I need my PC TOTALLY reformatted. Windows reinstalled as part of it missing.Told my phone line is faulty (isn't)...etc, etc.. TWO HOURS...

When aol email me to ask what I think of their ''support'' I will inform them that my 13 year old son managed to do in 5 minutes what the sum of their EXPERTS couldn't accomplish in 2 hours. Would they like to employ him? Doubt it - English is his first language and he's overqualified.

I'm stunned by reading this thread - the FIRST thing I 'saw' was the ''Milgram Experiment'' (Obedience to Authority Study).-

Very briefly, it's a psychologiacl experiment which demonstrates how people will obey 'authority' in favour of their own feelings. If you're not familiar with it, I THOROUGHLY recommend you read it in regards to this thread.

Regarding this thread, think of the Congregation members / subjects, who obeyed the CO/PO, rather than what they KNEW to be the correct action. AFTER the Milgram experiment, some/ many subjects (been a long time since I studied, lol) suffered psychological damage, and I imagine the same would be true of Congregation members.
