Here we put gas in our car.
You put petrol in your car.
Never understood why Americans put GAS in a car...it would just float away, surely?

Is internet dating for losers?
by Newborn inafter almost a year of internet dating on various sites, i've concluded that it's not the place for me to meet the man of my dreams.
anyway, i'm happy i've given it a shot and i've gained lots of experience and even made a few male friends.
anyone here who's had better luck?.

Creativhoney - that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time ... reminded me of the episode of 'Jonathan Creek' where Maddie (Caroline Quentin) goes on a blind date with Nigel Planer (can't recall character's name) and he's about 20 years older and 3 stone heavier than the photo he sent her - and married.

The next British monarch...
by highdose incurrently we have dear old liz with her corgis but i belive she has delayed retireing because of how much her son is not liked?
she surely can't keep going much longer?!!
so i was wondering... for all you brits or ex brits here... who would you like to see as the next ruling monarch?

I don't think that Highdose...the Queen has always maintained that it's her lifelong responsibility, and unless something unforseen happens, I don't think she'll ever 'retire'. Don't you think the Nation has 'mellowed' toward Charles? We must have the oldest reigning 'couple' in Europe - the Queen is coming up to 84 and Philip is 88!

I actually think Charles would make a good Monarch...although I also think that it's quite possible his mother will outlive him. Charles will become King George VII (not Charles III)

SOM - I heard through another person that this female I know said I slept with her when I didn't.
There you go...second hand 'news'. Never a good idea to believe gossip (as other posters have suggested). Maybe the 18 year old is totally unaware of this...?

Being Under Cult Mind Control is a Psychological Disorder - Steve Hassan
by flipper inthought perhaps some newer members who haven't heard some of hassan's thoughts on mind control might relate to this from their own experiences in jehovah's witnesses .
even though mind control is initiated by the cult involved in controlling it's members - hassan points out - it actually becomes a psychological disorder which can entrap the victim himself or herself - all the while - as they are being controlled by the leaders of cults.. on page 55 of hassan's book " releasing the bonds - empowering people to think for themselves " it states what happens in a destructive cult , " in a destructive cult, the locus of control shifts to the group or it's leader .
the new recruit abdicates his ability to make decisions.

The WT has manipulated its 'members' into believing they are 'safe' within the Organisation. It's almost like a mass hypnotic state (which is ironic really, as JWs are fearful of hypnotism as a form of mind control)
