  Demonic Possesion of Inaminate Objects

  this is a phenonoma often discussed by jw's.

  how unique is this idea to jw's?.

  anyone got any good stories on this subject?.

  They can't see how illogical it is (I've heard of 'possessed' inanimate objects in the past). Buying a second hand item of clothing without knowing its origin could be risky BUT new clothes are alright..? So, once the material (from which source is unknown) is made into clothing it loses whatever demons may have been woven into it when it reaches the shelves of 'Primark'...?

  ...and let's not forget, next time you/they get cash from a hole in the wall (ATM), it's already been through so many hands/homes etc that some notes must be possessed. Which beggars the question, 'is cash for Christians?'

  More Cultural Differences - Strictness Levels & Demographic

  from what i read on these threads it seems to me that the usa is a lot stricter than the uk, in all aspects of the religion.

  - is this a general cultural thing, ie a lot of middle america are still a godfearing bunch, or just a witness thing, maybe a bit of both, and if anyone could provide examples of strictness, lets see how the same situation would be handled in the uk?

  and is it easier going in cities than the country counterparts?

  From reading these forums, I get the same impression. I put it down (somewhat) to being 'distanced' so more detached from NY HQ.

  it's ridiculous.

  i saw this so much in my 44 years in the jehovah's witness cult.

  whether it was elders, pioneers, or other people in the cult criticizing others for working too much at their employment or missing some service or meetings due to employment.

  On one hand, they must know that if they keep the 'flock' on the breadline, then they are gambling in receiving less in donations as people won't have the spare cash. BUT on the other hand, is it another way of keeping the 'sheep' in a state of fear? If people have more disposable income, they are less likely to worry generally, but poorer people are more focused on just surviving - and with the brainwashing meetings, they are focusing on surviving through the bOrg. Also, as WTWizard pointed out, if they cannot afford the finer (physical) luxuries so are more focused on the brainwashing 'spiritual' ones?

  Is internet dating for losers?

  after almost a year of internet dating on various sites, i've concluded that it's not the place for me to meet the man of my dreams.

  anyway, i'm happy i've given it a shot and i've gained lots of experience and even made a few male friends.

  Creativhoney - that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time ... reminded me of the episode of 'Jonathan Creek' where Maddie (Caroline Quentin) goes on a blind date with Nigel Planer (can't recall character's name) and he's about 20 years older and 3 stone heavier than the photo he sent her - and married.

  The next British monarch...

  currently we have dear old liz with her corgis but i belive she has delayed retireing because of how much her son is not liked?

  she surely can't keep going much longer?!!

  so i was wondering... for all you brits or ex brits here... who would you like to see as the next ruling monarch?

  I don't think that Highdose...the Queen has always maintained that it's her lifelong responsibility, and unless something unforseen happens, I don't think she'll ever 'retire'. Don't you think the Nation has 'mellowed' toward Charles? We must have the oldest reigning 'couple' in Europe - the Queen is coming up to 84 and Philip is 88!

  I actually think Charles would make a good Monarch...although I also think that it's quite possible his mother will outlive him. Charles will become King George VII (not Charles III)

  why would a female say something like this if not true?
