Why don't JW's list THEIR invitation?
by Golden Girl ini always wondered why the jw religion doesn't list their location and invitation to their meetings in the local "church and worship places section of our paper?.
i was told when i was a jw that it is because they are no part of "babylon the great".
i settled for that.. .

Why do the English make fun of 'gingers'??
by Jez in.
were orange haired people thought to be from some tainted lineage?
just curious jez

There is no difference between picking on gingers because of their hair colour and picking on black people because of their skin colour.
Well - the latter is 'racism', which is offensive, but the former is 'gingerism' which is funny.

by MidwichCuckoo inafter reading jt stumbler's topic on avatars, i recognised that certain avatars appeal to me, and i'm sure others feel the same.... .

Do JWs ever use their donations/WT profits to help the less-fortunate?
by sonnyboy ini was a jw for a number of years as a kid, but i don't remember them doing anything to help the community.
many churches in my area have soup kitchens, clothing/toy drives, and other services to help people in need.
do jehovah's witnesses ever use proceeds in this way, or are they all used to make more watchtowers, books, and kingdom halls?

RichieRich - am gobsmacked!
The only ''money-raiser'' I have ever been aware of, is the 'swap parties' (is it a British - thing?). About once a month one ''sister'' will host one where members of the Congregation take along stuff they no longer want, and help themselves from others' ''donations'' - oh, did I mention..?..it's all in aid of the WT fund so they pop something in the Contribution Box while they're there!!

Hi you all.
by chrissy innew to the forum & simply introducing myself.
i've enjoyed reading some of the posts here.
it is so nice to know these forums exist for poor ex-jw girls that suffer from post tramatic sheltered-from-the-rest-of-the-free-world syndrome.
