these claim to speak in god's name, but most of their utterances are not based on the scriptures, and what they have to say is basically worthless.

Not only has the Kingdom Hall 2 collection boxes (one for Hall and one for Worldwide Fund - and no doubt they're screwed at Magazine counter), but they also have collection boxes in individual homes (Book study)...the Org rakes it in any way it can.

by new boy inthey brag about the fact that they the don' t baptize their babies because "how can a baby 'know' what religion it wants to believe in the rest of it's life!".
but a 14 year old does?.....they put so much presure on their children to get dunked, that if your not baptize by 18 years old there is something really "wrong" with you.. so the poor kid does it, just to get everyone off their backs.
legally a minor can't be held to a contract if they are under 18 years old and why?

At 15, I was one of the oldest in my peer group as I recall. And speaking of 'punishment' and guilt for leaving...does anyone else hear, ''well you USED to believe''...YES, like I USED to believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa as a child...we believe what we're taught as true when children.

by Maddie ini need some support and advice with my situation and hope you don't mind me going on a bit because i feel wretched!
i hurt so much with my jw family relationship and find it so frustrating that whatever i do or say doesn't make any difference.. my son and wife had a little girl 9 months ago, my first and only grand child and i love her so much.
when she was born my hubby and i helped them a lot wiith buying all the expensive things she needed, as my son hadn't a well paying job as being a die hard jw he believes in the "education and career isn't what you should be doing propaganda" put out buy the wt.

Maddie - maybe she (DIL) feels insecure and jealous as she hasn't a close relationship with her parents, and so by isolating your son they are 'in the same boat' and reliant only on each other.
Regarding 'he believes in the "education and career isn't what you should be doing propaganda" put out buy the WT' - my head wants to say, 'get the WT to support/subsidise his salary then'. I've found that, one way or another, most of US (me included) are still having to compensate (wrong word, but I know what I mean, lol) the WT (whether time or money) just to maintain relationships with JW relatives.

NEW TRACT CAMPAIGN PLANNED....
by sir82 in....for october 20 - november 16.. there is a new tract to be introduced, with the title "do you want to know the truth?".
it is not a "kingdom news" campaign - after the campaign, this tract will join the "regular rotation" of tracts to be used in the field misery.. it is designed to replace the "do you want to know more about the bible" tract - the goal is to use it to start "bible" studies.. the goal is to cover all of the congregation's territory in 4 weeks, similar to other campaigns in the past.
unlike other campaigns, though, the congregations can order as many as they would like - they are not limited to 50 per publisher.
