Partakers or (gasp) Fakers?

I'm somewhat confused over 'fakers' - as if there are genuine 'partakers'. In my mind, they are all fakers.

i know i have been through all those stages, i denied it, then i got angry, definitely sad.

months and months of this, and i still am in for my family and friends.. but sometimes i just feel stupid.

why did i ignore basic common sense for so long?

i have read today this quote from one member on facebook going by the name of ruth eeker.. .

based on her quote, she states that "as well in regards to the un, the society has various name versions registered still in the un.

so they are still not completely out of the supposed beast!".

Gill - a friend of mine BOUGHT a flat (England), and, as you know, flats are leasehold - and included in the terms of the lease agreement was restricting the owner in 'religious gatherings' (from what I recall, no more than eight or ten members could attend a religious meeting at property).
Perhaps freeholders are tightening up on gatherings? I wonder what the terms of council properties are (a lot of the JWs I know tend to be 'council')?

The way I see it, as children we believe what we're taught by our parents. 'Worldly' kids believe in Father Christmas/Tooth Fairy etc until they reach a certain age (it's ok Ninja, just kidding - Father Christmas DOES exist!!) - but they don't feel stupid for believing, it's just (once a year) harmless fantasy. WT is dangerous fantasy, and kids born into it are subjected all year round in nearly every aspect of their lives. They're not allowed to develop normally to cope with the 'childhood lie'

Until 1995, JWs could comfortably say that there was a limited amount of time before The End--it had to come before everyone who saw the events of 1914 died. Since 1995, that is no longer the case.
Thanks OMGhost :wave: - yes, pre 1995 God Himself promised us that the 1914 generation would not pass away etc (I read it in The Awake, so it MUST be true), so it was important to the JWs...but now it has no significance, no connection with what is happening on Earth (?)

Cheers SirNose. I know the WT can't just sweep 1914 under the carpet, but the two JWs I'VE spoken to about it seem very vague (one just said, 'well, we 'predicted' WWI). It all seems basically meaningless (I know...it always was, lol). The way I NOW see it is that 1914 'served a purpose' and is now redundant.

Ok - just to clarify (for me please, lol) - the way I understand it now is that 1914 is no different from any other year...?

These stupid statements never fail to make me smile. I think we've all heard pretty similar stuff (from JWs who have only read the WT's literature)
Pretty soon, his daughter, + the leader of the local congregation, + letters to/from head office put me way over my head.
I was learning things I didn't know existed in Scripture.
Don't worry about it - most of what the WT churns out is way above the heads of JWs too. With all the constant changes, the old folks (and probably the younger ones too) can't keep up, they just accept it as been 'too deep' for them to understand. Not much of what the JWs believe DOES exist in Scripture.
